California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Stockton wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Stockton animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local
San Joaquin County Animal Control
for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses,
pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the San Joaquin County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that
helps with dog and cat issues only.

Stockton Wildlife Tip:
How to kill a rat in a tight space -You may not be able to kill a rat in a tight space. There are certain circumstances within a home that do indicate the use of means other than lethal trapping. While this is not the ideal when it comes to a pest animal like the rat, sometimes you need to do what is best for the home. Tight spaces include areas inside the roof, in exterior walls, and between the walls and ceiling. Sometimes you just can't get to the rats. This is a good and a bad thing. The good part is that the animals are not yet into the areas of the home where wires and important materials are kept. The bad news is that the rodents will be difficult to get out. Depending on where the tight space is on the home, you may want to call in the professionals. Areas like the roof can be tricky to trap and require the setup of a one way door trap. If you are not familiar with this type of technique, do no clamber onto your roof and make an attempt. There is a chance that rats in a tight space have a larger area where they spend time. Make sure you look for signs of activity in the attic or crawlspaces of the home. If the rats have been in those areas, they are where you should try to set out lethal traps.

Proposed ordinance would let pest control companies shoot pigeons as last resort
City staff today is expected to introduce to the City Council a proposed ordinance change that would allow pest-control companies to use guns on pigeons as a last resort to control the birds' population. The San Joaquin County Pest Control board could not be reached for comment.
"We really did not want to do this," City Manager Pamela The Termite and Spider Exterminator said. "We're fairly animal-friendly. But we've run out of things to try." The council meets at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 390 Towne Centre Drive. The proposal would enable private pest-control workers to get firearms permits on a case-by-case basis and use guns on pigeons or any animal deemed a pest. Most local owners of pest control companies in Stockton, California weren't sure what to make of all this.
The new policy was drawn up with pigeons particularly in mind, because the birds apparently have a large presence in Lathrop and have posed continuing problems the past two or three years, such as the amount of droppings they leave, The Termite and Spider Exterminator said. "We have a lot of pigeons in some places. ... It gets all over everything." Stockton pest control is an important part of the local economy, but only a few California companies deal with wild animals.
She said the city has worked with companies to trap pigeons and relocate them or use noisemakers to scare the birds off. But the pigeons always seem to return, she said. The proposal would amend an existing city ordinance that says police and animal-control officers can use guns in health- or safety-related emergencies. The council could adopt the change Oct. 18 to include pest-control workers. There are many types of insects and animals in Stockton, and other California cities, but not all of them are pests after all.
