Illinois is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Chicago wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Chicago wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Chicago Wildlife Tip:
How to remove snake from house - If you have a single snake in the house, remember that the animal probably doesn't want to be inside, either. Snakes can wander into a home through damaged areas of the building or through open doors and windows. Sometimes snakes enter because they are following the smell of rodents. Aside from repairing your building, you need to find out what species of snake you are dealing with. Venomous snakes in the home are not uncommon when it comes to this situation. While most states have more nonvenomous snakes than venomous, dangerous vipers are often on the move more, and are more likely to investigate a home looking for food. If the snake is venomous, close it into a room and plug the gap between the door and the floor. You do not want the snake leaving that room. Call a professional immediately. Not only can vipers be deadly, they can strike at surprising distances. Nonvenomous snakes can be handled, but care should be taken to avoid harassing them unduly. Even a harmless snake can bite, and bites often contain anticoagulants which cause profuse bleeding and prevent wound closure. If you are going to handle a nonvenomous snake, wear gloves or use a snake hook. Place the animal into a pillowcase and relocate it off the property.

Getting Rid of Mice Droppings in your Attic

Mice are very unhygienic animals and can leave their droppings scattered all over your house. Many people are often in a daze when they find loads of mice feces in their houses. How should you remove the feces out of your attic?

When cleaning attics or any other dusty place, especially places with a lots of rodent droppings, it is advisable to wear protective gear. While many may consider the droppings as harmless, they are known to harbor very dangerous bacteria and viruses. Just wear latex gloves, and also a nose mask to prevent you from inhaling the contaminated air.

Ensure that you do not stir the droppings. Most vermin that flourish in mice droppings are airborne. While you may be wearing protective gear, those around you like your family, neighbors and even your pets are not protected. Stirring up mice droppings is a way of introducing these airborne vermin in the air and you do not want to infect other people with the vermin.

After wearing protective gear, you should spray the mice droppings with a disinfectant. This can be in a spray can as a mixture with water, or in powdered form. When using unknown disinfectants, you should follow the user manual promptly as mishandling of some disinfectants can be dangerous to your health. You should spray the whole attic with the disinfectant since the mice could also have contaminated other areas with urine or saliva. Let the disinfectant rest for about 10-15 minutes before getting to the next step.

Use a towel to collect all the droppings carefully not to stir them too much. You should also be careful not to get in to contact with the droppings. Carry the droppings in a sealed paper towel and take them out of your house.

While many people are tempted to burn the droppings, it is easier to drop the trash in your trash bin, especially if the trash bin is outside your house. However, if you decide to burn the droppings, just do it far from the house.

You should spray the attic with a bleach solution after the above steps are finished. Be careful not to leave any spot unsprayed. The next step is the mopping, which should be done appropriately. You do not have to use a lot of water, especially when the attic is wooden. You should take out all furniture in the attic and steam clean it outside your house. Wash any clothing or beddings with a detergent.

The last step involves letting the attic to dry slowly, and this means that the cleaning is most effective when carried out during the sunny periods. You should clean all your protective gear with a detergent before storing them.
