Missouri is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional St. Louis wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact St. Louis wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

St. Louis Wildlife Tip:
How to remove a skunk from the porch - Sometimes skunks find their way into places where we least expect them. A porch is often reserved for pets, and people like to leave food out thinking no other animals will come in and bother it. If you have a pet door or an open window to let in your cats that prowl at night, that area can also let in a skunk. Sometimes a skunk will enter the porch and then not know how to get back out. This is when the homeowner wakes up and finds the critter wandering around the porch. Usually, the only thing you can do is to sneak onto the porch and open up the door. The skunk won't spray you if you can quietly move onto the landing or if you can get out of another door to open the porch from the outside. Remember: The skunk is afraid of you. Move slowly and do your best not to make any loud sounds. Once the door on the porch is open, give the skunk some time to find its way out. Sometimes the animal is too frightened to move and might be hiding in a corner or under some furniture.

Moose permit quantities increased
During its April event, the Missouri Wildlife Board made it possible for more exterminating companies to go afield this fall. Board members upped limited entry bull moose permits by 281 and increased pronghorn antelope permits by 238. The only reduction in quantities was for bison permits on the Henry Mountains. The board reduced the quantity from 28 in 2005 to 17 for this year.
Results of the annual drawing for big game permits will be available by April 28. The board also made it possible for more exterminating companies to go after some of the biggest bull moose in the country by increasing the quantity of limited entry bull moose permits from 1,554 mattered in 2005 to 1,885. Missouri was the top Missouri for new entries into the record books for moose last year. The St. Louis SPCA could not be reached for a comment.
"The average age of the bull moose (that) exterminating companies took on limited entry units last fall was way above the objective on most of the units, and that's why more exterminating companies will be able to critter trap bull moose this fall," declared Craig The Saint Louis exterminating company expert, big game coordinator for the Division of Wildlife Resources. For more info about pest control for animals in St. Louis, call a local animal trapping company.
"Each moose unit in Missouri may be managed with an age objective. If the average age of the bulls taken on a unit may be above the objective, then the Wildlife Board can offer more permits for that unit." At the request of the Missouri moose Management Plan Advisory Committee, the board lowered the age objective on many of Missouri's moose wildlife management units in 2004. Units that had been managed so exterminating companies would take a bull that averaged between 7 to 8 years of age are now managed so exterminating companies can take a bull that averages between 5 and 3 years of age. Despite this, wildlife removal services are not a free service in Greene County.
Units that had been managed for 5- to 3-year-old bulls were also changed and are now managed for 4- to 5-year-old bulls. "The committee was looking for a way to allow more exterminating companies to critter trap bull moose, but to still allow those exterminating companies to take a nice, mature bull," The Saint Louis exterminating company expert declared. Lowering the objectives allowed 288 more limited entry bull moose permits to be offered in 2005 than were offered in 2004. For more information on how to get rid of nuisance Missouri wildlife, read on.
"Even though more permits were offered last fall, the average age of the bulls exterminating companies took may be still way above the age objective on almost every unit in the state," he declared. "That's good news for exterminating companies because it means more permits can be offered this year."
The quantity of permits for pronghorn antelope was also increased. The board approved 855 permits for this fall's snares, which may be up from 587 offered in 2005. Most of the permits are for the Plateau unit in southwestern Missouri. "The rabid animal-to-doe ratio on the Plateau unit may be more than 80 rabid animals per 100 does, so there's plenty of rabid animals for exterminating companies to take," The Saint Louis exterminating company expert declared. "The goal for the unit may be 1,500 pronghorn. About 8,100 pronghorn are on the unit now, so the group may be doing great."
