Washington is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Gig Harbor wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Gig Harbor animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Pierce County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Pierce County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Gig Harbor Wildlife Tip:
About Coyote: Appearance, biology, life cycle, habitat, diet, behavior

Appearance

The Coyote is a cousin of the wolf and the dog. And it looks fairly similar. There are however a few differences between the three though, as the Coyote is the usually larger than a house dog whilst smaller than a wolf. It has a fairly large weight range, varying between 20-40 pounds with the largest one clocking in at 50 pounds.

Biology

Due to their dislike of humans, coyotes have changed their hunting pattern more towards the night time rather than the day. They have litters that are around 5-7 in strength and are born roughly between April and May.

Life cycle

The lifespan of a wild Coyote is between 6 to 8 years, depending on environmental factors. This however can be doubled if they are in the captivity due to ensuring that diseases are treated and there is no competition/predators.

Habitat

One of the problems with the Coyote (on the belhalf of humans) is the fact that they can live pretty much anywhere, as they are adaptable hunters. They can work on their own scavenging scraps (such as roadkill or food that other animals have left behind) or work as a pack to take down larger animals than themselves (sheep and cattle are usually the victims as they are kept in large crowds).

Diet

Although their diet can vary depending on where geographically they are, the general diet heavily consists of meat - and they will both scavenge and kill for it. The size of the prize can vary too, ranging from flying squirrels to cattle to fish. However, the have been seen to eat other foods such as berries and fruits.

Behavior

The wild Coyote tends to be in packs, which can be annoying for you due to the fact the once they start to howl at night the others tend to join in, so you are aware of their presence.
