Arkansas is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Ft. Smith wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Ft. Smith animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Sebastian County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Sebastian County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Ft. Smith Wildlife Tip:
Are Squirrels Running Down Walls And In Attic - Many people have to deal with the problem of squirrels in their homes. Squirrels are extremely inquisitive creatures and love to find a warm, safe place to live, if they see a hole, no matter how tiny, they are going to investigate it, and once they get in and see what a great place it is to live they proceed to let all their squirrel friends know! This means that if you have one squirrel you most likely have a colony of them, this is especially true when pregnant squirrels are involved - they love to find a safe place to make a nest for their babies which means that you have the potential for 5 squirrels right there.

Squirrels are active in the early morning and evening. They will leave their place of residence in the morning to spend the day foraging for food before coming back in the evening - this is why you will most likely hear the associated noises of scratching, running both in your walls and in the attic at these times. If you can hear them running in the walls as well as the attic, you may feel panicked about the numbers of squirrels in your home - the reality is however many you have you need to get rid of them, as soon as possible.

Ft. Smith, AR Animal Control News Clip:
Fort Smith, AR Students get Batty About Bats during Halloween

Several students sat in the front row of a science classroom in Fort Smith, giggling and pointing at the three winged mammals placed in front of them. "Look! They're so tiny!" said Jessie, 7, as she watched a Mexican Freetail bat, cling onto a piece of paper towel inside a small plastic aquarium. "He looks like he's shaking."

The fact that the program about bats was on Monday, which happened to be Halloween, was coincidental, said The Fort Smith and Van Buren Wildlife Expert, who also does wildlife shows about reptiles, birds, manatees, fish and insects. "This is pretty neat," she told the students. "This is the first time I've done a bat show on Halloween."

Students learned about the different kinds of bats that exist in the world as well as how they are useful to humans and the environment. The Fort Smith and Van Buren Wildlife Expert also took the opportunity to dispel many myths that people have about bats. After a slideshow about bats, The Fort Smith and Van Buren Wildlife Expert introduced the students to two Mexican Freetail bats, and Count Choculi, a brown bat.

The Fort Smith and Van Buren Wildlife Expert, who spends a lot of time traveling to schools across the state and educating students about wildlife, said she thinks it's important for students to learn as early as they can about wildlife. "You can teach them how to have a healthy attitude towards animals and dispel some of the myths," she said.
