Del Mar Wildlife Tip:
How To Get Rats Out Of A Wall

Rats are sneaky pests, and they can soon make entry to your house through small holes. Earlier these rodents used to live in wild areas, but within past few years they have shifted to urban locations and are more active in residential areas. Many people in the United States report troubles due to rat infestation and they need an immediate solution to get rid of these rodents. They not only build nests in the attic and basements rather some of these rodents also try to create comfortable living space in the wall cavities.

Experts say that once bats get access to the wall cavities, it becomes quite difficult for homeowners to get rid of them. Note that it is not so easy to get access to the wall cavities; rats make it possible by causing huge damage to the property. They create a pathway from the attic to the wall cavity and use this path in routine to collect food from outside world. When rats are living inside cavities; you may often hear lots of noise in this area as rats keep on moving in night hours.

Note that rats are lithe and flexible creatures; they are capable enough to squeeze into small holes to reach wall cavities. Once they find a week point on your property, they will chew it more and more to create a big hole and get inside to create a cozy living space. They often try to live at ground level and keep on making scratching and scrunching noise inside. You can easily notice their presence by observing the droppings and grease marks in the surrounding area.

It is quite difficult to trap rats inside the wall cavity of your house because these rodents are far away from direct access. Some of you may try to catch them through the attic, but due to this, you have to look down through cavity hole to the ground level where rats live. You may take help of a long stick to grab the rat out of it. However, if you are not able to take them out using a stick, you may have to create a small hole in the wall to take them out. This is a costly procedure as you need to repair the wall after taking the rats out of it.

In case if rats are returning to your wall cavity, again and again, it is important to locate their primary entry and exit points. Once you trap the group of rats living in your wall cavity, you need to block all their access holes to ensure complete safety for future. The white rats often prefer to live in the cavity, but they come out in search of food so often. You need to observe them in routine and install a one-way snap trap in their path to deal with infestation issue. If you have multiple rats inside; you need to install snap trap time and again. Once you take them all out of the cavity; seal the entry holes properly.
