California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Mill Valley wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Mill Valley animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Marin County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Marin County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Mill Valley Wildlife Tip:
Effective homemade rat poison recipe
Having rats around your home is never something you want, but the idea of going out and buying poisons to bring home and use may not be very appealing either. Not only do you have concerns about your own pets getting into the poison, but there can also be a situation where your children may get into them and become sick. There has to be much better options, unfortunately there are some very effective homemade rat poison recipes you could make out of common products around your home.

Recipe 1

The first option combines plaster of Paris, cornmeal, and milk. In a bowl, combine about a quarter pound of the plaster of Paris with a quarter pound of cornmeal. Mix these together well. Then, add between one and 2 cups of milk into the mixture and stir until it begins to clump. What you are looking for is that the mixture will dry so that it can clump.

From there, take out a clump that is about the size of a donut hole and knead it in your hand until you are able to roll it into a little ball. Do this with 6 to 8 chunks of the mixture and then placed them in locations where you are sure that the rats will come. This should be behind your stove, refrigerator, and cabinets, or maybe even on your countertops.

If you have noticed that after a few days they have not eaten from the clumps that you have left out, you will need to replace them. By that point the plaster will have become too hard and this will be ineffective as a means of killing off the roads.

Recipe 2

The next recipe combines flour, sugar, and baking soda. In this mixture, combine 1 cup of each of these products into a large bowl. Thoroughly mix them until the three substances are mixed well.

Take a few small bowls and add a small quantity of the mixture to these bowls. Place them in locations like behind your refrigerator or stove, in cabinets, or other areas where rats are known to go. What happens is that when the rats eat this mixture, which they are attracted to because of the sugar in it, the baking soda reacts with the acid in their stomach. This forms a gas in their stomach which they are not able to relieve and the rats will die from a ruptured stomach.

Recipe 3

You can also try mixing plaster of Paris with instant potatoes. If you would like, you can add a little touch of cinnamon to the mixture to make it more enticing to the rats. After mixing the substances together, combine a little bit of water so that the mixture begins to clump. Roll this into balls and place in locations around the house where you know the rats will come.

One of these three recipes could do wonders in helping you to resolve your rat problem. The best part is that most people have these products at home.
