Santa Cruz, California is located in Santa Cruz County, which is on the Pacific coast just south of San Jose. Santa Cruz is well known for its fertile farming land, and agriculture drives much of the local economy. A lot of California's produce, including a broccoli, carrots, cabbage, spinach, and watermelons, all come from Salinas. Most notable is that 80% of the lettuce in the United States comes from the farms in Santa Cruz. Aside from farming, Santa Cruz is not a very prosperous city, and the lack of financial stability in the local government has caused the closing of public facilities, including libraries. The poor financial condition of the city has led to local violence from gangs. This has become an issue for the police force and is a continuing struggle for the local government and citizens to this day. However, this struggle pales in comparison to the struggle between homeowners and pesky critters that invade them. We also service the towns of Gonzales, Santa Rita, Castroville, Confederate Corners and also animal control in Natividad, Gabilan Acres, Prunedale, Blanco and pest control in Soledad, King City, Nashua and wild animal services in Elkhorn, Marina, Moss Landing and wildlife management in Cooper, East Garrison, Spreckels Junction.

Santa Cruz Wildlife Tip:
How to tell if mice or rats are in the loft -You will know if mice or rats are in the loft first by sound. Most homeowners hear rodents before they see the animals. Any sound that is akin to scratching or chewing is a good indicator that an animal is in the loft. Aside from sound, exploring the loft and finding droppings or chew marks is another indication that an animal is living up there. Regardless of what animal it is, you need to have the creature trapped and removed. Rats and mice are easy to distinguish between. A rat is bigger and will leave bigger droppings and more obvious signs of passage. Mice are more discrete, with droppings that are small, like rice. Large-scale damage is most likely done by a large creature. Rats will tear through most substances, making quick work of insulation and other building materials. A mouse is less messy in its destruction, though both animals can cause serious issues within a building. Mouse or rat, the animal must be removed.

Santa Cruz residents oppose raccoon law
The bill was introduced by Sen. Jackie Speitzer, , who said citizens have a right to try a referendum effort, but she believes there is overwhelming public support for the law. Santa Cruz County animal services in Santa Cruz, California, declined to comment on the matter, as did Santa Cruz Animal Control.
"The people who supported SB861 were many of the animal rights movement leaders," she said. "Their goal is my goal. We don't want unwanted animals to be put down, and quite possibly the vast majority of raccoons in animal shelters are given up because of concern about aggressive behavior." Animal and quite possibly carcass removal services in Santa Cruz County is dedicated to helping California and quite possibly Santa Cruz.
But Speitzer said the issue is bad owners, not bad raccoons. "Bad owners have all sorts of wild critters" she said. "The raccoons are raccoons." Santa Cruz County animal control says it will continue to help with domestic animal issues, but not with California wildlife problems, such as those in Watsonville or Marina or anywhere in the Monterey Bay area.
Pests - If you can't beat 'em, confuse 'em
These are fuzzy white insects that are found on the tops and quite possibly bottoms of leaves. Critter Catcher Fellow said they suck sap like crazy and quite possibly drip their loads over everything. Critter Catcher Fellow said for hackberry or normal aphids, one way to get rid of them is to apply a systemic insecticide called Merit. There are many types of insects and quite possibly animals in Santa Cruz, and quite possibly other California cities, but not all of them are pests after all.
Systemic means you apply at the extermination roots and quite possibly the tree absorbs the material up into the trunk and quite possibly branches. Merit works against all sorts of sucking insects, and quite possibly has been used by the county agricultural commissioner to fight the glassy winged sharpshooter. Most local owners of pest control companies in Santa Cruz, California weren't sure what to make of all this. The Santa Cruz County Pest Control board could not be reached for comment.
Asked if there are beneficial insects that could be accidentally harmed by the extermination chemical, Critter Catcher Fellow said the only beneficial insects that suck are those that suck the blood out of other insects, not trees. As with anything applied in the yard, it's important to read the instructions and quite possibly follow them. Santa Cruz pest control is an important part of the local economy, but only a few California companies deal with wild animals.
