Colorado is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Fort Collins wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Fort Collins animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Larimer County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Larimer County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Fort Collins Wildlife Tip:
Types Of Squirrel Poop You Might Find - If you have a squirrel infestation hundreds of poop pellets may have been the first indication that you have visitors - unless you have heard them already of course. Generally fresh squirrel droppings are small, brown and look very similar to an oversized grain of rice. It may be that you have noticed many different colors of feces but there are no different types of squirrel poop. The thing that differs is age - the fresher the poop the darker brown it will be. The longer the pellets have been around your attic the lighter they become. Squirrel droppings are fairly similar to rat droppings but tend to be a little fatter. If it appears you have a wide variation of types of squirrel poop it probably just means that your squirrel has been in residence for some time - not that you have several different kinds of squirrels in your attic.

If you are dealing with a squirrel infestation it is important to get rid of all the squirrel feces - be sure to wear protective clothing, as with all animal dung, squirrel poop has been associated with Salmonella and Leptospirosis. It is also likely that squirrel droppings contain parasites so great care must be taken when cleaning up this unpleasant mess.

Pest "Killer" bees strike closer to Colorado

A few weeks ago, entomologists at Oklahoma State University confirmed through DNA testing what The termite queen and insect and exterminating expert suspected. The attackers - The termite queen and insect and exterminating expert sent six bee corpses to OSU experts - were indeed descendants of the 26 colonies of volatile Africanized bees transported to Brazil in 1955. The Larimer County Pest Control board could not be reached for comment.

Those bees escaped from their experimental hives a year later and began a relentless and deadly northward migration through South and Central America, into Mexico and then into the United States along the Texas border in 1990. Most local owners of pest control companies in Fort Collins, Colorado weren't sure what to make of all this.

The bees have, according to scientists at the Smithsonian Institution, killed at least 1,000 people - most in areas where homes and cars aren't available as sanctuary in an attack. Fort Collins pest control is an important part of the local economy, but only a few Colorado companies deal with wild animals.

By next summer, it is very likely the bees will discover Colorado. "This is as close to Colorado as we know they've come," said The termite queen and insect and exterminating expert. "And they'll get there one way or another. They'll keep moving in a natural way to find more food, like wildflowers, and water. Or a small colony will get under the canvas tarp of a big truck and hitch a ride north. We know they've done that in other places. They're very adaptable." There are many types of insects and animals in Fort Collins, and other Colorado cities, but not all of them are pests after all.

Colorado Boy Mauled by Family Pit Bulls

A 10-year-old boy is clinging to life after his family's three pit bulls mauled him Wednesday afternoon as he was trying to get into his home. For more information, call the animal services of Fort Collins, Colorado.

The boy's stepsister, the sister of the dog attack victim , said the family was taking care of one of the dogs for a friend in Fort Collins, who was no longer allowed to have them because of a strict pit bull ban in Fort Collins. The sister of the dog attack victim said she has asked that all the dogs be euthanized. Larimer County animal control says it will continue to help with domestic animal issues, but not with Colorado wildlife problems.

Two years ago, the same dog owner was cited for keeping too many dogs and allowing them to run free. Aurora recently passed a law banning pit bulls and several other breeds. Animal and carcass removal services in Larimer County is dedicated to helping Colorado and Fort Collins.

The law takes effect Jan. 31. Under the new ordinance, new pit bulls will not be allowed but Aurora residents who already have pit bulls will be allowed to keep them if they pay a $200 registration fee, carry $100,000 in liability insurance and have the dog microchipped. Larimer County animal services in Larimer, Colorado, declined to comment on the matter.
