Ridgefield Wildlife Tip:
Raccoon infestation - A raccoon infestation implies that you have multiple raccoons running around in your home. This would be the case for one of two reasons: You have a mother raccoon raising a litter of kits, or, and least likely, you have a group of raccoons sharing the space in your attic because it is a particularly harsh winter. While explorers have occasionally found groups of raccoons living together in abandoned cabins, itís not usually the case when the home is still inhabited by people. Because the raccoons in your home are probably a mother and her children, trapping and removal can be easy and difficult at the same time. Very young babies can be found and used to lure the mother into a large cage trap out in the yard. Itís more difficult to snag babies that have grown enough to be active, but you can still do soójust be careful of getting bit. If you remove the adolescents and can still put them in a cage trap to entice the mother, great. If they are too large, youíll have to trap the mother using a cage trap anchored to the roof near the hole she is using to enter.

Some of the deadly facts on House mouse - When you look at a house mouse, some will see a beautiful creature that ought to be treated well and allowed in the house at all times. But just like the saying, never judge a book by its cover, the good and beautiful looks in mice fade away into horror when you know what these small creatures are capable of. When your homestead is infested by these little chipmunks, you will regret it as to the reason why you allowed them in your homestead. The reason is that although these mice are small, they create a bigger mess and loss than their bodies to say. Maybe you are wondering how such small animal can create such havoc, well here is a clue. Take an example were two mice infest your homestead. The two can make a whole ninety kilogram of maize into waste by them tearing down the sack and eating only about one kilogram of the whole bag. The manner in which they eat is the one that wastes the food.

Mice eat their foods through gnashing, this means that they only eat small chucks from a grain then move to the other grain, you can find that at the end of the day, these mice have devoured almost a quarter of a sack. The worst comes with their droppings. As they do feast on the food materials, these mice appreciate the meal by dropping their droppings on the same place they are eating. One can produce a maximum of 18,000 droppings in a day. These are the major cause of contamination in food. Since mice a really small, they do produce very toxic droppings hence with one dropping in our meal, all the plate becomes bitter and un-edible. The disgusting part comes with the mice dropping are highly concentrated urine in the grains. This again makes the food inedible and hard for one to select the good grains.

When these so called house mice find their way in granaries or major food stores, they cause a major havoc in them, putting in mind that wherever they are present, they leave pieces of their hairs in them. Who would want to be served with food with mice hairs in the food? Mice infestation has created a concern among government officials and is advising the major food storage facilities to have mice and rat proof containers to store the food. In the case where you have a granary with you, you can have the same with mice kept at bay by installing mice proof plates in the granaries. Sealing all the small holes in the granaries and homestead can really help in making sure that these animals are kept at bay.

Apart from house mice destroying food materials and other valuables, they are also a major concern to the humanís health wise. Although they are not as dangerous as their counterparts, the rats, house mice do harbor a whole load of disease causing vectors. These small creatures can carry hundreds of parasites in them than carry diseases with them. When you have an encounter with mice, be sure that there are other vectors that have been left in your house. This could be in the form of fleas, lice and other small living organisms that host bacteria and virus that cause major harm in the human body.

When you are infected with the fleas and lice, their bites alone cause a major skin damage which can be very painful. To get rid of these, you should make sure that you have something that will cure the skin rashes and disease caused by the same mice hence you should never take anything for granted. Keeping cats can be a major advantage to you because the two are major enemies. A mouse can never live in a house with a cat.
