Georgia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Buckhead wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Buckhead animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Buckhead Wildlife Tip:
What should I do with a snake after I catch it?

Once you have set to capture snake in our around your home, it is always important to plan ahead, i.e. to know what to do with snake after you catch it. This is especially important if snake in question is venomous snake and thus is crucial to take it away not just from your home, but also from human environment so that other people or animals will not be in peril.

As said many times, lots of snakes in our surroundings aren't venomous, and should simply be released; they most likely got into your home by mistake and they simply want to run away as quick as possible-let them do so. Now, if snake in your home is venomous, it is very important to deal with it with extreme caution. Best solution of course is to contact professional wildlife rehabilitator who will know how to safely capture it and then to safely remove it from your home.

If you decide to capture snake on your own, good thing is that there are several different models of snake traps that enable safe capturing of snakes. We don't recommend using glue traps outside of home, because other animals can also get caught on glue and die before you discover them.

Before getting into the adventure of capturing snake in order to relocate it, take time to get familiar with laws and regulations that deal with capturing and relocating pests. Because snakes are in many states considered as pests, these laws and regulations apply to the snakes as well and need to be followed in regard to them. Some of these laws forbid relocation of snakes across the county or state border, which in some cases can quite limit your options when it comes to relocation.

If it is ok to relocate trapped snake, it is important to consider on which location you are going to take snake. You need to relocate it where there is water and food source. You also need to make sure that you have enough space to back away once you set snake free-you don't want to be near scared, angry snake once it gets loose. Of course, you will want to choose location that is far away from human surroundings, so that no one else is in danger from this released snake.

When relocating captured snake, you don't need to move it from the trap if you are not going too far away. If you are relocating snake to more distant location, it will be a better idea if you put it with the trap into a box with a lid or a grille, so that you can open that cover and let it go safely (the longer snake is in the trap, more angry and more dangerous it will be).

Let us also mention that if you have captured snake with a glue trap, it is important to pour vegetable oil over it to enable it to release itself from glue.
