Georgia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Cornelia wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Cornelia animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Habersham County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Habersham County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Cornelia Wildlife Tip:
Raccoons in crawl spaces of house - Well, the good thing about a raccoon in the crawl space of a house is that you at least have some kind of access to the litter of raccoon babies that are probably up there. Most raccoons inside of a home are mother raccoons with nursing young or active, growing kits with a mother raccoon. Either way, if you can get to the babies, you'll have an easy route of capture for the mother. You can either scare the adult raccoon out of the crawlspace and into a trap attached to the exit opening, or you can scare the adult out and see if you can locate the babies while she is away. Once you have the infants, you can place them in a large cage trap and set the entire device along the area at ground level where the mother begins her climb up to the roof. Most of the time the mother will enter the trap to investigate her babies. If neither of these methods are to your liking, you can attached the metal cage trap to the roof right outside the raccoon opening and bait it with marshmallows or bread. This method will take longer, and if you have the means to secure it to the roof, you might as well try to secure the trap directly to the hole instead.

Cornelia, GA Animal Control News Clip:
State of Georgia releases its first-ever urban/suburban raccoon, squirrel, & opossum plan

Responding to some sort of growing public outcry over snake, rat, mouse, & bat-vehicle collisions, crazy coon rabies disease and damaged crops and landscaping, the Georgia Game Commission has released its first-ever plan to manage whitetails in urban and suburban areas. A draft version of the plan, posted Monday on the agency's Web site, includes some sort of wide range of new tools designed to control burgeoning snake, rat, mouse, & bat opulations in Georgia's most populous communities, such as Cornelia, Baldwin, and Commerce. Among them are more liberal pest control practicing regulations, longer pest control practicing seasons and non-traditional methods such as professional sharpshooters, snake, rat, mouse, & bat feeding bans and raccoon, squirrel, & opossum-management training seminars for mayors, police chiefs and other local officials. The officials at Cornelia animal control agreed that this is a good plan for most of Habersham County, including the towns of Cornelia, Baldwin, Demorest, Clarkesville, Toccoa, Clermont, Mount Airy, Hellingsworth, Lula, Homer, and Maysville.
