Maine is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Wells wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Wells animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local York County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the York County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Wells Wildlife Tip:
How to get rid of peacocks
Peacocks are beautiful; the males have a bright and stunning tail display. The peacock has a piercing cry that can be used a warning, but unfortunately the birds flock in the wild and create so much damage. If you love your garden and have small plants in the yard, then you are going to need some peacock control. While it's nice to sit and watch the peacocks around your garden you need to get to them quickly before they become a nuisance to your plants, garden, screen doors etc.

You can control the birds without harsh solutions like traps or guns, and you will start seeking a way to deter them when they start seeing their reflection in your shiny car and start to peck at the paintwork.

If you get the hose put it on fast and give the peacocks a good squirt, this will send them on their way. However, if your garden has plants the Peacock likes to eat, and your garden is quite friendly and welcoming you will soon see the peacocks returning.

Males are the aggressive ones. They will attack other male peacocks and attack anything they can see their reflection in. With the risk of peacocks returning to your garden it is best to prevent them all together rather than scare them away temporary. Like most animals feeding them will only keep them coming back.Avoid feeding the peacocks and leaving bowls of water out for them. Protect your garden with wire and use brightly colored stripes of material and hang around your garden beds.

The birds can probably fly over the wire depending on how high it is but if you add the colored streamers to the fence, it will scare them if they try to fly over it.

Little dogs can be a good peacock deterrer they will chase the birds but are unable to catch them, so there won't be any harm done to the birds.Persistence is the key when trying to get rid of peacocks, and loud noises is a good method also. To save you standing outside all day waiting with the hose to squirt them installing a motion sensor sprinkler is best, when it sensors the bird's movement it will come on. The sprinkler system is fairly simple and just attaches to your normal hose.

Also, a good peacock deterrent is chill flakes spread around your garden. Once the peacocks start pecking and digging around your garden, they will feel the hot chilli flakes are a little too hot for them, preventing them from going near the plants and eating them.If these tricks don't seem to be working for you, consider contacting your local animal control to come and trap the birds and move them to a place away from homes and gardens.

Animal control will make sure the birds are moved to a safe place with no harm being taken to the birds leaving you and your garden in peace.
