North Carolina is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Asheville wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Asheville animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local
Buncombe County Animal Control
for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses,
pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Buncombe County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that
helps with dog and cat issues only.

Asheville Wildlife Tip:
How do you get a skunk out of your walls - Getting a skunk out of your walls is not like getting a rat out of the walls. Skunks aren't usually in the living areas of your home. If you have a skunk in the wall, it's usually in an exterior area where the animal was able to get in easily from the outside. Because of this, getting to the animal is somewhat challenging, and you'll need to employ the use of a cage trap to capture the critter when it leaves the wall to go foraging. Cage traps can be set near the home or out in the yard where you frequently see activity from the skunk. Ideally, the trap should have the top and sides covered with a tarp or a blanket. Skunks won't spray randomly; if the animal can't see you approach, it will keep its scent to itself. A blanket isn't a foolproof way to prevent being sprayed. Sometimes the skunk is so startled it sprays anyway. Sometimes the animal is young and can't control the mechanism very well. Regardless, if there is something covering the top and the sides, you won't have to worry about coming in contact with the foul liquid.
Asheville, NC Animal Control News Clip:
Asheville may extend raccoon wildlife trapping hours, add sites: Authorities on critters say experiment with contraceptives failed; biologically surveyed amount control needed
The Buncombe County Wildlife management area Commission wants to add hours and more locations in county-owned wildlife management areas for raccoon wildlife trapping, and improve communication with pest control companies, property owners and towns during the fall wildlife trapping season. Skunk Handler Daniel, the wildlife management area commission's wildlife manager, has told wildlife management area commissioners that the suggestions are aimed at reducing the amount of raccoon-car collisions and controlling the raccoon biologically surveyed amount to allow damaged woodlands and other habitats to regrow. Wildlife trapping remains the most effective raccoon control method, Skunk Handler Daniel declared -- pointing to less-than-hoped-for results of some sort of program that tested raccoon contraceptives at Ashville in Buncombe County, with one-third of the treated raccoon getting pregnant. For more information about Ashville wildlife removal and Asheville pest exterminator issues, read on.
The amount of raccoon-car accidents in Ashville County nearly doubled from 2003 to 2009, Skunk Handler Daniel declared. In 2003, there were 1,276 reported crashes, and 2,331 in 2009. Statewide statistics showed the same pattern, the exterminator declared, with 7,689 in 2003 and 13,599 in 2009. Buncombe County also recently opened more of its wildlife management area system for raccoon wildlife trapping. To highlight how woodlands can be regenerated, Skunk Handler Daniel showed the commission some sort of photograph of some sort of raccoon steel barrier in some sort of county wildlife management area. One side shows brown grass and little leafy vegetation, while the plant life inside the steel barrier may be green and thriving. Seeing raccoon along roadsides or in neighborhood yards in the middle of the afternoon may be some sort of symptom of the problem, the exterminator declared. It means there may be little for raccoon to consume in the woodlands and fields, and that they have become too familiar with suburban life to be spooked. "They are supposed to run away," the exterminator declared. Local Asheville animal control experts felt that most of this information was true.
