North Carolina is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Clayton wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Clayton animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Johnston County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Johnston County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Clayton Wildlife Tip:
Should I feed a baby opossum I found? It would be quite rare for you to come across a baby opossum but you shouldn't automatically just jump to the conclusion that the baby is abandoned or in need of some TLC because usually, that won't be the case. There are a number of reasons as to why a baby opossum may have been left in the while. The mother may have left the baby behind because she knew the critter was sick and wouldn't make it. What's the point in her wasting resources (such as food) on baby she knows won't survive when she can make her other youngsters stronger and healthier to hopefully survive for longer? If you feed this animal, you will prolong its suffering and cause it to hurt more. She may even be moving her young, if she hasn't abandoned them, and she may come back for the baby. If you feed it, or go anywhere near it, you could mask her scent with your own and she may then abandon the baby if she hasn't already done so. Plus you wouldn't have a clue what to feed a baby opossum, or not at least without the help of some Google researching. You may poison the baby if you feed it something wrong. What if it wasn't fully weaned yet? There are just too many questions you won't have the answers to. If you find a baby opossum, leave it just where it is and call a wildlife rehabilitator to solve the problem if you're still concerned.
