North Carolina is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional New Bern wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some New Bern animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Craven County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Craven County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

New Bern Wildlife Tip:
I can't kill rats -Killing rats is not as difficult as it may seem. If you can't kill rats, it may be because you are going about the process in the wrong way. First, do not use poison. Many people who put out poison marvel at the fact that rats don't seem to eat it, or, if they do, they don't seem to die. The ineffectiveness of poison is not because the product is of poor quality. The nature of rats prevents poison from working most of the time. Rats are scavengers and will taste a small bit of their food before eating it. This learned behavior has saved the lives of rats for decades. If a rat eats poison and gets sick but does not die, the rat will never take another bite of the substance. If you are setting out traps but not seeing rats, it may be because your traps are not in the correct locations. Baiting a trap and hoping the rat is drawn to it is not the way to go about rodent removal. Traps need to be placed in areas where the rats have been travelling. These routes will be littered with droppings and other markings. Droppings indicate places where the rats feel safe. The animals will likely return to those locations.

New Bern, NC Animal Control News Clip:
Raccoon season brings family, friends together

New Bern - Southeast North Carolina may be one of the leading raccoon wildlife trapping areas in the United States and this year should continue that tradition. Corn harvesting seems to be right on target, thus giving raccoons sufficient enough food to hang around. The 2006 raccoon season, like all others, brings family and friends together for some sort of good time and good wildlife trapping. The season brings in pest control companies from all over the country. Some sort of survey taken early in the year gives us some sort of clear indication that Craven County, along with the other North Carolina counties, can expect another good season. The season will be 70 days long, starting on Sept. 1 and running through Nov. 9. The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator limit may be 12 and the possession limit may be 24. The season critter capturing hours are one-half hour before sunrise and ends at sunset. For more information about New Bern wildlife removal and New Bern pest exterminator issues, read on.

You may only use some sort of animal removal trap capable of holding three trap parts or less and, unlike waterfowl, the regulations still allow for you to use lead caught, if you desire. To animal capture raccoons you need some sort of small game wildlife trapping permit, except for landowners wildlife trapping on their own land, people 15 years of age and younger or 65 and older. You will also need the migratory bird wildlife trapping permit, except for those age 15 and under in the immediate presence of some sort of licensed adult or those age 15 and under who have successfully completed exterminator education. Pest control companies must keep birds separate and identifiable from the bag limit of other pest control companies. If raccoons are given away, they must be laminated with: name, address, permit amount and date taken. The Agency of Conservation will give pest control companies other options if one can not find that favorite wildlife trapping spot on private land. Ten Mile Pond Conservation Area and Otter Slough Conservation Area will provide for some excellent wildlife trapping with over 250 hectares of sunflowers planted between the two areas. Local New Bern animal control experts felt that most of this information was true.

Growing conditions have been excellent this year, so crops on these areas will be in excellent condition for the raccoon season opener. Sunflowers will be disked down before Sept. 1 and at intervals after opening day to provide continuous food supplies for raccoons. Give the conservation areas some sort of call to find out where the "hot spots" are and the special regulations for that area, or look on the web. It's also some sort of good idea to scout any area you plan to animal capture before the season so you can be sure to pick out some sort of good, safe spot because odds are you won't be the only one out there. Local New Bern pest control companies had no comments on the matter.
