New Jersey is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Medford wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Medford animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Medford Wildlife Tip:
Humane groundhog removal
If you have a groundhog that has taken up residence in your yard, you know what a nuisance these critters can be. While it may seem pretty ingenious of them to be able to dig a tunnel system and home underneath your yard, the fact remains that this poses a serious threat to you, your family, and your pets.

All it takes is a wrong step in the entrance to one of these tunnels, and you can seriously break an ankle or tear your ligaments. You also have to worry about your dog or cat coming in contact with the groundhog and getting bitten or scratched by this critter. While these animals are not particularly dangerous, they do have sharp teeth and claws, plus they are the carriers of a number of diseases and parasites. This could lead to an extremely serious injury.

To resolve this problem, there are a number of traps that you can purchase that will result in the death of the groundhog. Most of them were quite effectively under the surface, killing the animal in their tunnel system, but this may not be the option you are looking to employ. While you do not want a groundhog around your home, you also don't want this animal killed. So, what are some humane groundhog removal techniques you can employ?

One effective way would be to use a trap to capture this animal. There are traps out there that you can buy that allow you to place a bait into the trap, luring the groundhog in where it is unable to escape. You then take the trap to another location, released a groundhog, and your problem is resolved. It honestly is as easy as that.

Unfortunately, groundhogs may not always cooperate with you and get into the trap. This causes you to look for alternative means.

One such option is to use different methods of harassment to scare away the groundhog. One that many find to be quite effective is the use of a motion sensor linked into your sprinkler system.

How this works is quite simple. When the groundhog comes out and start scurrying around your yard, it activates the motion sensor. The sensor then activates the sprinkler system which begins to spray the groundhog. Each time, the animal will head back to its tunnel system to retreat. After a few times, it will realize that it is unsafe to come out in your yard and will simply go away. This may take you five or six days handle this problem, but it is one that should be a permanent one, as the groundhog is going to find your property to be an unsafe location for it.

If you do find that you have a persistent groundhog that will not go away, you may want to look into hiring a professional to assist you. There are organizations and businesses that will happily serve you in removing this groundhog from your property. They are safe and effective, and nowhere to relocate the animal.
