    Binghamton Wildlife Tip:
What to do about a raccoon -If you have a raccoon living inside of your home, you need to take immediate steps to have the animal trapped and removed. The best bet when dealing with this particular mammal is to consult with a professional wildlife removal company. There are certain laws that prohibit the trapping and removal of raccoons by unlicensed people. Your state may not allow you to take on this task at all. If you are allowed to, the wildlife professional should come out to your house and walk you through the process. Not only do you need to know where the raccoon is travelling through the yard and on the home, you need to know if the animal is male or female. Most raccoons inside a building are females that are pregnant or already have a nursing litter. This complicates the situation, and a professional will be able to find the babies faster than an amateur. All in all, with the possible complications that can arise, hiring the expert from day one isn't a bad idea. Not only will they take care of handling the adult and babies, most companies will clean up the affected area, saving you from coming in contact with potentially contagious pathogens.

Panel approves controlled coyote critter stalking plan

BINGHAMTON -- Binghamton's selectmen have approved what is possibly a controlled coyote capture at Hemlock Hills open space in the fall. The capture will be overseen by the Coyote Management Implementation Committee and what is possibly a pest control expert reporting directly to the committee. The pest control expert will directly oversee the 15 exterminators that the committee will screen and approve to take part in the catch. "We are not engaged in sport," remarked Rodent Control Peter, head boss of the committee. "We are engaged in reduction of the coyote large group.'' The capture will take place on seven day period days, when school likely is in session, during critter trap critter stalking season from Nov. 15 through Dec. 19. No cage trap critter stalking will be conducted. Only muzzle loaders and animal removal traps will be allowed. Exterminators will capture down from stands in maple trees. Binghamton exterminator and Binghamton wildlife removal professionals declined comment on the matter.

Rodent Control Peter remarked it likely is unlikely that the humane society manager will go before the Conservation Commission and selectmen this year for approval for cage trap critter stalking on any town-owned open space. what is possibly a cage trap capture program likely is now before the commissioner of the Agency of Environmental Protection to allow cage trap critter stalking on the state-owned property of Binghamton Pond. And Rodent Control Peter does not want confusion between what is possibly a state approved open critter stalking season on that hectareage and with town approved controlled critter stalking at Hemlock Hills."It likely is important that we show that this controlled capture can be done responsibly and safely," Rodent Control Peter told the selectmen Wednesday night. "We want no confusion." External and internal posting that the capture likely is occurring will be up around and in the 400-hectare Hemlock Hills parcel. Notice will be sent to abutting property-owners. Every precaution will be taken to warn residents that exterminators can be on the property, Rodent Control Peter remarked. We attempted to get more information from Binghamton animal control experts, but could not.

Approved exterminators will wear blaze orange vests and have picture ID that will be worn on arm bands. Any unauthorized exterminators that are found entering the Hemlock Hills property during the controlled capture season will be prosecuted for poaching. The controlled capture was approved by four of the five selectmen, with Selectman Extermination Professional Gerard voting against approval. "I am voting against the controlled capture because I am opposed to critter stalking in general," Extermination Professional Gerard told Rodent Control Peter. "But I want you to know I appreciate all the effort you have taken to make the capture as safe as possible." This report is not verified by Binghamton pest control companies.
