Oklahoma is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional McAlester wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some McAlester animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local

pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Pittsburg County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that

McAlester Wildlife Tip:
Do All Bats Carry Rabies?
Bats are known to carry or have rabies and people dread this fact. But surprisingly bats carry rabies far less compared to other mammals. It has been found that less than half of one percent of all the bats may have rabies. People are staying under the myth that hundreds of people die every year because of bat rabies. But actually there are only one or two human deaths that happen because of bat rabies in the United States. A person residing in U.S. is more probable to catch plague or leprosy than to get rabies from a bat.
The bite of a bat feels like sharp needles piercing through your skin and mostly people know that they are bitten however bats have small teeth and the marks left by its bite could be superficial and not be seen easily. In situations as such if you see a bat flying in the room of someone who is mentally impaired, an unattended kid or someone who is under the influence of alcohol, must be given medical assistance and have the bat tested.
Rabies is mostly transmitted through a bite however there might be some rare cases when it might get spread by exposure from infected saliva, open wounds or mucus membranes of nose, eyes or mouth. Rabies mainly happens because of careless handling of a bat. You cannot just get rabies by seeing a bat or from the bat droppings. Although bat droppings cause a different illness known as the Histoplamosis but there is no way you get rabies from guano. Therefore if there might be a situation where you have to handle or touch a bat, use gloves as you never know which one is infected with rabies.
Rabies is a fatal disease. This is a virus that attacks the nervous system. It moves along nerve cells from the bite site to the brain stem, incubates and ultimately explodes in numbers, inflaming the nerve cells of the spinal cord and brain, causing a host of awful symptoms and death.
These small flying creatures could not be too safe but it doesn't mean you poison or burn them if they are around your house. However you need to be careful and educate your children never to handle bats alone or attempt to rescue a bat in danger. There are many safe and humane ways to handle them. We can learn to co-exist with them peacefully, they are important for our environment. After all they keep your surroundings bug free.
