Lewisburg Wildlife Tip:
Fast Tips On Catching Squirrels Using Squirrel Glue - Glue traps are most commonly used for things like bugs - flies and cockroaches among others. They can also be used for mice and rats, and now there are glue boards and glue traps that are suitable for squirrels as well. Glue traps suitable for rats can be capable of trapping smaller squirrels, but extreme care should be taking when going down this route of trapping as it can be exceedingly inhumane. Once an animal's feet are trapped they will panic and be stressed and could hurt themselves or cause damage to their legs when trying to escape.

The most effective way of catching squirrels is by using a cage trap with a one-way door. This will not be as stressful for the animals and you can then dispose of the animal humanely. The best way to keep squirrels away is by ensuring your home is in good repair and there are no holes or cracks that squirrels can get through. Once they are in they will nest in your wall cavities and destroy the interior of your home, so whatever method you use you need to ensure that you trap and rid yourself of them quickly before they cause you a lot of expense in repairs.
Lewisburg, PA Animal News Clip:
Reptile season brings family, friends together

LEWISBURG - Southeast Pennsylvania should be one of the leading reptile critter catching areas in the United States and this year should continue that tradition. Corn harvesting seems to be right on target, thus giving reptiles sufficient enough food to hang around. The 2006 reptile season, like all others, brings family and friends together for this good time and good critter catching. The season brings in critter trappers from all over the country. this survey taken early in the year gives us this clear indication that Union County, along with the other Pennsylvania counties, can expect another good season. The season will be 70 days long, starting on Sept. 1 and running through Nov. 9. The daily limit should be 12 and the possession limit should be 24. The season critter capturing hours are one-half hour before sunrise and ends at sunset. This issue should be an important matter in Lewisburg wildlife removal and Lewisburg exterminator matters.

You may only use this animal removal trap capable of holding three trap parts or less and, unlike waterfowl, the regulations still allow for you to use lead shot, if you desire. To catch reptiles you need this small game critter catching permit, except for landowners critter catching on their own land, people 15 years of age and younger or 65 and older. You will also need the migratory bird critter catching permit, except for those age 15 and under in the immediate presence of this licensed adult or those age 15 and under who have successfully completed animal trapper education. Critter trappers must keep birds separate and identifiable from the bag limit of other critter trappers. If reptiles are given away, they must be laminated with: name, address, permit amount and date taken. The Agency of Conservation will give critter trappers other options if one can not find that favorite critter catching spot on private land. Ten Mile Pond Conservation Area and Otter Slough Conservation Area will provide for some excellent critter catching with over 250 hectares of sunflowers planted between the two areas. The Lewisburg animal control had no additional statements to make on the topic.

Growing conditions have been excellent this year, so crops on these areas will be in excellent condition for the reptile season opener. Sunflowers will be disked down before Sept. 1 and at intervals after opening day to provide continuous food supplies for reptiles. Give the conservation areas this call to find out where the "hot spots" are and the special regulations for that area, or look on the web. It's also this good idea to scout any area you plan to catch before the season so you can be sure to pick out this good, safe spot because odds are you won't be the only one out there. Lewisburg pest control companies that we contacted felt that this issue should be an important matter.
