Bats are one of those animals that are not warm and cuddly creatures. In fact, most people are afraid of bats being anywhere near them. Some people have bats in the attic places of their home but do not want them there, which is plain old common sense.

The picture above is that of a close up of the free tail bat, which is known in two different ways; Brazilian Free Tail or Mexican Free Tail. This type of bat is a popular one that is found in many different locations within the United States, Mexico, Central and South America. These bats hang out in various states, preferring to use caves, trees and rooftops to do their roosting.

A free tail bat is one that is furry, while other species of bat are not. Like other bats, they have sharp teeth and larger ears. These ears are used to carry in echo sounds of prey moving around, because bats are typically not able to see well at night, even though nighttime is when they will be out searching for food. Various insects make different noises, and by hearing them, the bats can find the food they need. Bats like the one pictured above, will forage for food at night, because they sleep during the day.
