The Brazilian Free-Tail Bat - Bats are an animal that is not one that most of us want in our homes or anywhere around us. There are so many types of bat species and one of these is the Brazilian Free Tail Bat. These bats are also called the Mexican free tail bat. This bat is one of the most common of all bats that reside throughout the United States and into most of the country of Mexico. The bat is also common to the countries of South American and Central America. Most of the warmest locations are ones where this bat likes to roost.

Bats living in the United States will hang out in Nevada, states in the mid-west and when the winters become too cold will migrate to Southern California and to Mexico for the duration of the US winters. These bats will most likely eat insects. The most common insects are flies, dragonflies and wasps. A bat will swarm down while flying and capture their insects. In fact in Texas, there are large numbers of the Brazilian bat that will fly lower to the ground and eat plenty of the insects located in this dryer hotter state.

These bats love to hang out in various places, such as caves, the highest tops of trees and in the under hangs of different buildings. Anywhere there is a dark place, you may find a bat or several bats in a group. Some bats love to hang upside down in hollowed out tree stumps or in dead trees. When bats hang upside down high up they are many times out of the view of different animals that may be preying on them. If you find that there are bats hanging around your home, call us to come out and remove them so that your life can be bat free.

It's a good idea to remove the bats from your belfry or attic, but it's also a great idea to avoid harming them! Any competent wildlife control expert should have the knowledge and expertise to safely and effectively remove an entire colony of bats from a house without harming or killing a single one.
