Coming out of the attic with the catch.

Customer Rat Email: I am needing a contact number or a call back in reference to a company that you have linked to this website. I am EXTREMELY impressed with what I have seen on your site and how you handle the rat problem that we are having in our attic. I am wanting a local company to do that for me. I have tried on numerous occasions to contact a local company on a website and they aren't even giving me the common courtesy of a call back. I made my first call to them on Friday, March 12th and call a few times since then. My small rat problem is going to turn larger if I can't get good help soon! My name is Jennifer. Again, would you PLEASE give me a number to call or call me at the above number. Thank you, Jennifer First, I called Pest Control because they serviced Arlington where I live. I called them at least 4 times over a one week period with not even a call back of ANY kind. Next, I tried calling Critter Pro. They service the Dallas area, but I was hoping they would come my way because I needed help!! No return call, so I text him like his voicemail said to. He told me that he couldn't come out to help me, but asked that I send him all my information and he would forward it to the guys at Pest Control. He said that they were good friends and that he really needed the work. Well apparently he didn't need my work, because I NEVER heard from him!! I ended up just calling and hiring the guys who does my parents quarterly pest management. They don't do things the way that you guys do and the way I REALLY wanted it done, but I felt I had no other options. Unfortunately they only do baiting and if they die up there they don't remove them. I knew that if we didn't do something fast we were going to have A HUGE rat problem, and I had already wasted almost two weeks waiting for people that I thought would have done it the right way. I can't stand that I have this nasty smell in my house and my daughter can't have friends over, but I am grateful and hopeful that they are all dead. Like I had said in my original email, I am EXTREMELY impressed by the way that you handle rat problems and wish that I could have had that done at my house. To be honest, I am not sure if my problem is solved, but we are slightly intimidated to go back up there now and check. Jennifer

My Answer: I know a trapper in your area who should be able to help you and do a very good job. He was trained by my brother-in-law, who trained directly with me in the art of rat control.

There are three kinds of rodents commonly found inside buildings (in the attics, walls, and even inside the living space). They are the Roof Rat (Rattus rattus), which is also called the Black Rat, then there's the Norway Rat (Rattus norvegicus), also known as the Brown Rat, and the House Mouse (Mus musculus). Roof Rats are more common in the south, such as Florida, where I work. The above photo is of a Roof Rat. They are very common inside attics. The Norway Rat is more common in the northern section of the United States. The Norways are more commonly found underground, in subways and sewers and such. The House Mouse is found everywhere, but seems more common in the north. All of these rodents thrive in urban areas and love to live in human buildings and houses. They use human garbage (and pantries) as sources of food. All of these rodents are carriers of several diseases that can infect humans and pets. They contaminate homes and attics. The only way to permanently solve a rat problem is to find out how the rodents are gaining access to the inside of the building, and fix those openings. Then the remaining rats inside have to be trapped and removed. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Rats page.

AAAnimal Control is a privately owned wildlife removal and pest control business, located in Orlando Florida. I deal strictly with wild animals such as rats. I am not an extermination company, but a critter removal and control specialist. The above photos are some of the many that I've taken in the field over my years of work. Please email me if you have any questions about the above photographs, or any questions about wildlife problems or rat control issues.
