Arkansas is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Little Rock wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Little Rock wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Little Rock Wildlife Tip:
Ultrasonic snake repeller - The ultrasonic snake repeller is an ultra-super flub. This device was created because of the great marketing associated with ultrasonic repellers for other pest animals, like rodents. The difference between rodents and snakes is that snakes can't hear high pitched sounds. Or, rather, snakes do not hear sounds in the traditional manner of other animals. The ultrasonic repeller may indeed emit a sound too loud for human ears, but it will also be too loud for a snake. Sadly, there are no reliable repellents on the market for homeowner purchase. The only repellents that have demonstrated limited success are mongoose urine and kingsnake musk. The downside of these two products is that neither is available to someone without a wildlife license. When it comes to snakes, the best repeller you can buy or make is the one that allows you to keep your property free of snake-friendly vegetation and debris. Snakes are low to the ground; they need to be able to be concealed by items low to the ground. To keep snakes off your property, make sure your grass is short and your gardens are not made of ground cover. This, coupled with a foundation free from cracks, will be your best repeller for snakes.

Gardening tasks and projects to prepare for cold winter

Here are a few gardening tasks and projects that you can do this month to help keep your garden looking it's best for the rest of this season, and prepare for the long cold winter and upcoming spring.

Perennials, annuals, and bulbs Make sure that the canes of your climbing roses and other vining plants are securely fastened to their supports. Winter winds can whip and severely damage unprotected plants. Don't tie them so tightly that the string or twist tie cuts into the stem. I recommend using a length of an old nylon stocking because it will stretch as the plant grows, rather than cutting into the stem, as string will do. Most local owners of pest control companies in Little Rock, Arkansas weren't sure what to make of all this.

Mound five to six inches of soil around the bases of your hardy fuchsias and roses. Use soil from another part of the garden, rather than risking damage to the roots by digging around the base of the plant. Cut chrysanthemum stems to 2-3 inches from the soil once they have begun to die back. You can continue to transplant your perennials throughout the fall and winter, as long as they remain dormant.

Tulip bulbs may still be planted in the early part of the month. Tender bulbs should be dug up and stored in a cool, dark area after first frost. Be sure that your tender plants are protected from frost. Mulching with bark, sawdust, or straw will help create a blanket of protection over the root system. Should the weather get suddenly cold, place burlap, cloth or dark plastic over your tender plants to give them some added protection from the cold. Be sure to remove this covering when the weather has stabilized! Although several species of wildlife roam Little Rock, only a few, such as raccoons and squirrels, are considered pest wildlife.
