Kentucky is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Crestwood wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Crestwood animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Crestwood Wildlife Tip:

What can I do to remove squirrels from between the walls?

It's been two days since you've heard those noises, but no matter how hard you look you just can't seem to find the source. It's almost like the walls have come alive and trying to communicate with you.

Well, to be honest, your situation is a far more common phenomenon. You have an animal stuck between your walls, most probably the squirrel you saw racing in your garden the other day. So, how do you remove it? Well, to quote on my favorite cliché dialogues ever: "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way."

The easy way

Did you catch the noises in time? Are they happening at intervals of activity and silence? If so, then congratulations. You saved yourself from a whole lot of trouble. The squirrel you're trying to remove is still alive and can, therefore, be "convinced" to come out on its own, without you having to physically remove it yourself.

Find any openings the squirrel used to get inside (and probably uses each day to get in and out) and seal all but one, fitting a one-way exclusion trap at the entrance. The next time it leaves, it'll automatically walk into the trap and be removed from your wall for good.

The hard way

Ah, it seems fate hasn't dealt you a good hand. It would seem the squirrel you're trying to is stuck between the walls (evident by its persistent, frantic scratching). Ignoring it would only worsen the situation; you don't want to deal with a dead, rotting squirrel in your walls. Now, that it's come to this, it would seem the only way to get it out is to make a hole in your wall and remove it by hand, wearing thick protective gloves of course. It's called the hard way for a specific reason.

Removing a NEST of squirrels

"Hey, I just removed that squirrel. Why are there still sounds coming from the walls?", You ask. Well, my friend, your guardian angel seems to be a strike; you're dealing with an entire NEST of squirrels in your wall, baby squirrels that can't fend for themselves and would probably die in the absence of their mother (the squirrel you just removed). And again, you don't want to deal with dead squirrels in your walls.

How do you remove them? Guess it's the hard way again.

Sometimes it's ok to ask for help

Cutting open sections of your wall is not an easy task (nor is it a safe one since you're dealing with tools that could be extremely dangerous in inexperienced hands). So, if you feel out of your depth when taking the hard option, do not hesitate to call the experts. They've dealt with a situation like this countless times, and since experience is the best teacher, can perform the job better than you, a novice could ever hope to do.
