Maryland is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Annapolis wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Annapolis wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Anne Arundel County Animal Services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Anne Arundel County animal services, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Annapolis Wildlife Tip:
How to get snake out of house - You do not have to be a Navy SEAL to get a snake out of the house. If you have a thick pair of gloves and a pillowcase, you are more than equipped to accomplish the job. This is, of course, under the knowledge that you are dealing with a nonvenomous snake. You should never attempt to handle a venomous snake. Most deadly bites happen when a person is trying to harass or handle a dangerous serpent. If this is the kind of snake in your home, confine the animal to one room and call a professional to come and remove it. Venomous snakes can strike with incredible speed and distance. There is no logical reason to attempt to remove it on your own. If you think it will save you money, tell that to the emergency room doctor who has to treat you for a life-threatening bite. No, only the nonvenomous snakes should be removed by a homeowner. If you are not comfortable picking up the snake with your hands (in gloves), you can use something that resembles a professional snake hook. The goal is to put the snake into a pillowcase as quickly as possible. Snakes that are confined and cannot see too far around them will be calm. The snake in the pillowcase will be able to be transported to an new area and then released.

Annapolis, MD Animal Control News Clip:
Fewer raccoon and opossum lessens enjoyment of wildlife trapping

Foust, Annapolis: The squirrel and skunk amounts is down so bad in Zone 4B of Letter Kenny that it is actually scary. There is no such thing as a group of animals of rodent or reptile anymore. It's one, two or three together if you're lucky enough to even see a rat & mouse. This all started a few years ago.

I went one evening to see what they had to say. They wanted antler restrictions which helped save on the size of our male coons, but it still has come up a little short of expectations. Our quantity of male coons is not there either because they wanted to trap our does off. They told us to be selective on our female coon critter capturing; as far as adult does, they told us not to trap the little ones. Well, the female coon amounts is so low there is very little choice.

The pest control companies are critter capturing the little ones and there go the button male coons, which really hurts the quantity of male coons that we wait for to get big enough for us to harvest "quality" male coons. They said they were giving us two weeks to animal capture does. Well, those two weeks of wildlife trapping does have done our amounts in, plus there are pest control companies that have two and three bonus tags. We have to stop wildlife trapping does in male coon season and all the bonus tags. The local Annapolis SPCA could not be reached for comment.

I know at least two groups that drive for raccoon and opossum that have enough people to cover a whole side of the mountain. When these groups tell you there aren't any squirrel and skunk, you better well believe them. I don't animal capture quite that hard, but I do get pretty far in the mountain.

I think our local Wildlife regulatory agency should go with these groups just to see what is in the area. I know these wildlife regulatory agencies do not know what is the area because in 42 years I have never seen a game warden walking around in the mountain. All I have ever seen was them driving around in their automobiles. How do they even know what's out there when they don't even get out of their automobiles? Despite this, wildlife removal services are not a free service in Anne Arundel County.

Now they want an increase in the price of licenses, but they have less to offer. No rodent or reptile, no rabbits, no ringnecks. That is a thing of the past, it seems. (I will say there is a nice amount of opossums.) I am getting to the point where I am not going to stand out there all day long watching large plants growing. I sure am glad I don't have a 12-year-old to take wildlife trapping because he is not interested in watching large plants growing either. This past year I have let raccoon and opossum walk because I know what the situation is out there. I feel guilty to trap a female coon.
