Ohio is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Urbana wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Urbana animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local
Champaign County Animal Control
for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses,
pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Champaign County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that
helps with dog and cat issues only.

Urbana Wildlife Tip:
Handling Dead Animals
`
Knowing how to dispose of a dead animal and taking care of it right away is very important for people that come across dead animals. Whether it is your pet or you found a dead wild animal under your house you need some basic guidelines on what to do with the carcass and avoid getting an infection or worse some disease.
Burying Animals
However you choose to dispose of the carcass remind yourself always to wear gloves while touching the dead animal. Put the body in a plastic bag before burying it and use a shovel to dig up a hole. If a zoonotic disease is suspected (rabies) it is advised that you double bag the carcass. Depth wise the grave should be at least 3 - 4 feet deep, this is for health reasons. The plastic bag will not allow scavengers to dig up the grave, but rain or any kind of water may wash down the grave. Also don't forget that a 3 foot grave allows for about 2 feet of soil to come back on top.
Handling small animals
If you had a pet fish and it died, you can just flush it down the toilet. Just mind the size of the fish because bigger ones may clog your toilet. Some of the folks are concerned about diseased fish entering the sewer systems, but until it is made officially prohibited, you are allowed to flush your dead fish. Some of the other small animals can be placed in a plastic bag and then in the trash for garbage collection. Try marking the plastic bag with "Dead cat" or "dead rat" before you throw it though.
Professional help
If you think that you are not the suitable person for the job you should try and call some professional help to request dead animal removal. You should call sanitation services for carcass removal, or if you are handling some wildlife carcasses (like possums) you should call wildlife removal experts. However if you want your pet dog to be removed with a little more care than throwing it away you should consult your vet for cremation
