Pennsylvania is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Wilkes-Barre wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Wilkes-Barre animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Wilkes-Barre Wildlife Tip:
Does It Take A Long Time Dead Rodent Odor Go Away - If you have had a rodent infestation and tried to poison the rodents, or if you simply haven't realized that rodents have been in your home and then they have died, there may end up being a foul odor in your home. Once a rodent has died, it will continue to smell until it has completely decomposed and dried out - this could take a number of weeks depending on environmental factors such as heat and humidity. You will be able to smell it in your home but you may not necessarily know where the animal has died, which can make it tricky to remove the body and deal with the smell.
If a rodent has died in your attic, the first thing you should do is wear protective gloves. Once you are up there, the most likely places for it to be are around corners and next to the roof line. They could also be in the insulation as they love making nests here. If the rodent has died in your walls then the problem gets more costly as you will have to get through the wall to the rodent as well as replacing any insulation and re-plastering or painting the wall. Deodorizers won't work if you are trying to get rid of the smell - you need to air the place out completely. You could maybe try fumigation from a professional if you can afford it.

Wildlife - raccoon, opossum & squirrel-hand capturing regulations mostly unchanged this year
The black scaly tail-point restrictions established in 23 counties last year remain in place for 2005. Archery Vermin exterminators and firearms Vermin exterminators during all but the underage portion of firearms raccoon, opossum & squirrel season in these counties may take black scaly tailed raccoon, opossum & squirrel only if the raccoon, opossum & squirrel have at least four black scaly tail points measuring at least one inch on one side of their rack. raccoon, opossum & squirrel without black scaly tails and those with spike black scaly tails shorter than 2 inches may be legal. Hooray for wild creatures and critters!
The increase in Fur-Free raccoon, opossum & squirrel harvest in the 23 counties helped fuel a 12 percent increase in the 2004 female squirrel harvest and a 1 percent decrease in male rodent harvest statewide. Remember to treat the wild animals of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, with caution and respect.
Also in its second year may be the requirement that landowners obtain printed permits in place of the informal "native animal habitat area tags" they used prior to 2004. Formerly, those who owned at least five contiguous hectares could trap without a permit and tag their game with hand-written notes. Snakes and wolfs may be not all mean.
Starting last year, the Conservation Agency concerned free landowner raccoon, opossum & squirrel and turkey permits through permit vendors statewide. To obtain the permits landowners need to know how much hectareage they own and in what county or counties. To learn more about Wilkes-Barre wildlife, read on.
