Virginia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Arlington wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Arlington wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Arlington Wildlife Tip:
How to kill rats at home -There are many resources on how to kill rats at home, some of which are found on the Internet. Not all websites have accurate information, and there are just as many bogus advice columns as there are factual ones. If you want reliable information about how to kill rats at home, look for a wildlife removal site. These websites will have helpful tips about how to take care of rodent issues. Not only will a good website instruct you how to handle a job on your own, the webmaster will inform you if you should not make the attempt. There are certain situations that require the use of a professional. Trying to remove a problem animal on your own is not always safe or easy. Wildlife professionals have been trained to handle all kinds of nuisance animals, dead or alive. When it comes to rats, you can handle most home invasion situations on your own. Rats are hardy creatures, and trapping is the most reliable method of control. Any Internet site that is worth its salt will tell you that repairing your home is the first step to killing rats. If you do not stop the animals from entering the building first, you will end up trapping new rats and old rats, unable to tell which is which or when your job is complete.

Arlington, VA Animal Control News Clip:
Hello AAAnimal Control,
My name is Brian. I live in Arlington VA. For the last 4 or 5 days, I had become aware of a "visitor" in our garage. One day, I was opening the inside door from the house to the garage, and saw the backside of a medium sized long haired, long tail critter that was hightailing it away from the opening door. The next day, I was getting something out of the refrigerator we have in the garage, and whatever it was hissed and shook up the boxes and things out there. It was the size of an adult rat, but it's coat didn't look like a rat's fur. So, I attempted to trap it. After using different kinds of baits in a small sized live trap, I finally did catch it. It looks like an adolescent opossum. I am not an expert by any means, just a guy who doesn't want wild animals in my house or garage. I would like to release the animal in an area a few miles away from here so it could live it's life and it wouldn't get back here, but I can't afford to get bitten by the animal while I am releasing it even though I am trying to be kind to it. It would be easy to kill it, but I would prefer not to if I can avoid it.

So, finally, my question is, "What would it cost for you to come out to my house and remove the possum from my trap and put it into one of yours, and take it away? I would also like to ask you to look at the cause of the problem...a large opening from the base of my garage door to the concrete floor. I have an old overhead garage door that I can't afford to replace at this time. It is wood, and has a large opening between the bottom of the door and the concrete floor. We call it a smiley face because it does look like a smile. I don't want to start trying to replace the bottom wood member of the door, because the whole thing will turn into a huge project due to its age and instability.

What I would ask of you is....do you know of any type of rolled rubber or plastic material that could be unrolled and screwed or stapled to the bottom wood member of my garage door? Kind of like weather stripping, but a larger size? Finally, I would prefer that the trapped possum be released unharmed in an area where it could live out it's life, but not disturb other humans. However, if that is not possible, I would ask that you do whatever it is that you do with the animals you trap. I trapped the possum last night, and it is in the trap outside in my back yard...in the shade. It has no food or water, so I would like to for it to be gone as soon as possible. Please consider all of this, and let me know what you could to help me. Thanks for your help, Brian
