Virginia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Cave Spring wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Cave Spring animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Cave Spring Wildlife Tip:
Should you ever trap a pigeon in a cage?
In many places around the world, pigeons are a nuisance. They have become so dependent on humans for survival that they tend to flock to heavily populated places and litter them with feathers and feces. If that wasn't bad enough, they are also known to carry roughly sixty different kinds of diseases. This is why they have been classified as vermin, and why many people are desperate to keep them away from their property. While you may think trapping them is the best course of action, in most cases, you would be wrong.
While trapping them may be the most humane way to deal with a pigeon infestation, it is an ineffective method. The plan many people come up with is to trap them, and then release them far away from where they were, and hoping the birds will simply find a new place to live. The problem with this is the birds will remember where they were, and will almost always return there as soon as they are released. Whatever the reason, if you do set cage traps, be sure to check on them several times a day, or the birds may suffer from lack of food and water. Therefore the only effective next step in removal after trapping is to kill them. As they are classified as vermin, there are no laws preventing you from doing so provided it is done as humanely and quickly as possible.
Some people may simply wish to trap a pigeon just to keep it as a pet. While it is true that birds have been kept as pets for centuries, it is never wise to do this to a wild bird. This is dangerous, and birds that live in flocks, such as pigeons, need the companionship of others birds. Much like keeping whales in tanks at theme parks, it will lead to depression, mood swings, tantrums, and ultimately death. If you wish to have a pet bird it is highly recommended to get domesticated birds from pet shops.
But if you are just trying to get them off of your property there are other more effective methods with which to do so. One of the most common methods employed is to place special bird spikes along rails and other places that they commonly perch. You may also try getting fake bird of prey statues to scare off smaller birds much like a scarecrow does. Placing a wind chime can also be effective in a small area as the birds do not like getting too close to the noise.
Overall traps are both an ineffective method of removal and an inhumane way to get a pet bird. They are certainly NOT a recommended strategy in either situation.
