Virginia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Suffolk wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Suffolk animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Suffolk Wildlife Tip:
What are the types of house mouse snap traps?

Snap traps are the most commonly used form of trap that people use to kill a mouse or mice that are in their home. This trap has been around for generations, and is one of the many of us are quite familiar with. We've seen it in movies, television shows, even cartoons, and so the mystery behind how this contraption works is not a surprise to anyone.

This is the trap that you simply set the pace on the floor, pull down the snap mechanism and locking in place with the bar that is attached to the activator where you have placed the bait. After you put the bait on the activator, the mouse comes up and takes off the cheese or whatever bait you have placed on it, activating the trap which comes down and crushes the mouse, killing it instantly in most cases.

It's a simple, but very effective tool that has been used to exterminate mice for over 100 years. Because of its effectiveness, very few changes have actually been made to the snap trap until recently. Now, there are different kinds of additives that have been included in it that ensure that the effectiveness of the trap is even better than it was before.

Most of us are quite well aware of the standard snap trap. There is simply a bar that is locked in place and when activated, crushes the mouse. While this has been effectively used for generations, the truth is that sometimes mice survive this trap. Despite the enormous force that is unleashed on the rodent, there are times when it has hit the mouse at the wrong angle or the mouse has been quick enough to be able to avoid getting trapped.

To counteract this, a snap trap that is becoming quite popular with consumers is the kind that has eight teeth like mechanism that is replacing the square-shaped bar. Instead of a single thin wire coming down on the mouse, there is now a series of plastic or metal teeth like edges that come down and crush through the animal skin. These are usually shaped and triangular form, ensuring that the apex of each tooth is sharp and able to puncture through the animal, not only trapping it in place but also ensuring that death is almost always immediate.

These traps are more expensive than your standard snap trap, but they do the job 99.9 percent of the time. They are incredibly effective in how they are able to capture and kill mice, as even if the device does not instantly kill the mouse, is unable to get away. There is also the added benefit that it does not matter where this trap should wind up landing on the mouse, you can be sure that it's imminent demise is almost always a reality.

While these may be some of the simplest traps that mankind has ever created, they still remain as a very effective tool in handling a person's mouse problem.
