These cute little soft and furry mammals have egg shaped bodies and can be born in the colors of grey, buff and brown. They even have an adorable little tail that is most often brownish with little white specs. With two incisor teeth that sit one behind the other, these little creatures make it their business to always be aware of their surroundings. They often feed by grazing on grass, weeds and leafy forbs. When they are born as domestic they are often kept as pets in a backyard inside of a hutch or cage

Rabbit Nuisances
In Australia, rabbits provide the most problems. Degradation of the land and soil erosion is the damage they present. While eating the bark away at trees, they devour the seeds in such a way that the plant species is prevented from growing back. They contribute majorly to the decline of other native animals and Australia spends a great deal of money on food for their livestock due to the rabbits eating all of the most nutritious food.

How to Get Rid of Them
There are a variety of methods used to get rid of rabbits, but do they really work? Some people believe that it's important to spray the plants that they don't want rabbits to bother with repellants that smell like fox urine; however, this method requires that you continue to spend money. Repellants wear off and you eventually run out of them. In order for them to work effectively, you must continue to buy them and reapply them. A solution such as this can be costly even though it is only temporary. With all of the other things that you have to worry about, do you really want to include keeping a schedule of when to apply repellants?

Fences
Fences have also been mentioned as an effective way to get rid of rabbits when they have made your yard and garden their favorite restaurant. If this is something that you'd want to consider, there are some things that you'd need to do. Dig 10 to12 inches deep where the fence will be put up. This is where you would install chicken wire so that if the rabbits decided to dig in order to get under the fence, they wouldn't succeed. Next, you're ready to install a fence. The fence must be high enough so that the rabbits don't get clever and jump over it. While this solution can be effective, there are no guarantees. Another thing to consider when choosing this option is that not everyone can do this on your own so you may have to spend more money to have a professional do it. Not only that, but it's still no guarantee that it will work.

Live Traps
Live traps are ultimately the best way to keep a rabbit from coming into your yard. You don't have to continuously spend money on keeping them away and you don't just keep them out of your yard, but you can remove them from the area for good. These traps don't cause any harm to the rabbits or any other animals that may come across it. When you are looking to set a trap for a rabbit, you must pay attention to their activities. When you go out into your yard look for trails and burrow holes near trees, where they would find an abundant supply of food. This is where you would need to set the trap. When you set the trap, you need to disguise it so that the rabbit won't get suspicious when finding it. You can do this by placing grass on the inside and top of the cage trap. If you can obtain branches and twigs to put up alongside it, that would be sufficient as well. The next thing that you'd need to do is lure the rabbit in. Since you've already placed the trap near an area with an abundant supply of food, consider putting more inside the trap, but closest to the back of it so that the rabbit has to hobble all the way in to obtain it. Once the rabbit reaches the bait, they will automatically encourage the cage to shut. Once you have realized that you've caught your rabbit, you can relocate it somewhere that's not near your home. Traps offer long term results so that you can focus on your garden again while being humane to the animals. Be sure that it is legal to set traps in your state and county before buying and setting up traps. Choose the traps carefully so that they will not hurt the rabbits and check them regularly so that any trapped rabbits will not be in the cages too long and suffer. When relocating the rabbits, choose an environment that is far enough away from your home so that they cannot find their way back, yet also environmentally friendly for their continued survival.

How To Get Rid Of Rabbits In The Garden
If you have a garden and you live in a semi wooded area, then there is a good chance that rabbits have made their way into it. Rabbits are different to other types of pests in that fencing alone may not keep them out. So you need to think of the things that you should do to get rid of the rabbits in the garden and to keep them out. Fencing for example has to be used not only above ground but also under ground with an underground fence that is about four to six inches under the ground level. The fences that you use should also not be easy to chew for the rabbits. If you were to use a thin wooden fence, then a rabbit can chew through it in no time. Using a metal or a chain link fence will make it almost impossible for the rabbit to get in. If the rabbits are still in the area after fencing in your garden then you can go to live trap. Live traps will catch the rabbit in a humane manner so that you can release them somewhere away from your home. Other trap options are available, but live traps are usually also the most effective ones.

How To Get Rid Of Rabbits In The Yard
One of the many wildlife sights that you get in the suburbs is rabbits. Rabbits are beautiful animals and seeing them close to your house can be a treat; that is until they make a home in your yard. The damages that rabbits can cause on your yard include damaging of the grass, digging and damaging of your plants. Because those damages could add up in the money that you will spend for repairs not to mention that your property will not look as good, you need to find a way to get rid of the rabbits. So how do you get rid of rabbits in the yard? First you have to think that your yard is an open space and depending on the laws in your community fencing may not even be an option. Repellents are usually a waste of money and they hardly ever work. That means that using traps becomes the most viable option for you. Live traps are the more effective because they are also a bit larger than lethal traps. That makes it easier for the rabbit to go into them, and they are also the more humane option. Check the laws in your area for the regulations when catching and releasing rabbits.

How To Get Rid Of Rabbits In The Shed
The shed can be one of the places on your property where rabbits can try to make a shelter in the winter. That is because there is a lot that a rabbit can like about the shed. First, it is a place that does not get as much human traffic as others, it keeps them safe from predators, and it provides shelter against rain and snow. That means that people who have sheds are likely to see a rabbit or two, and you need to get them out of there before they reproduce and you get a population of them. Getting them out of the shed is something that takes two steps. First you need to trap the rabbits and second you need to make sure that they cannot come right back in after you release them. You can trap them by using one of several traps available on the market. Once you have released the rabbits make sure that you inspect the shed for any access points that the rabbits may use to come back in. Make sure that you seal any holes that you find to prevent reentry and your shed should be rabbit free. Do not keep any pet food in the shed as that may attract future infestations.

How To Get Rid Of Rabbits In Your Plants
Having a garden and even the plants in your yard can attract rabbits. Some plants provide food and most plants provide shelter. A bush can in fact keep a rabbit mostly dry during the rain and in some cases even make staying warm a lot easier. Catching rabbits that go in your plants is not as easy because you may not have room to install the traps close enough for the rabbit to even see them. If you do have room then traps are still only half of the job as you will need to also keep them away. Good bait for the traps would be fresh vegetables like lettuce or other leafy greens. If you do not have the room to place the traps then you can either try to scare the rabbits away or to simply wait until they leave. Usually, a person coming in and weeding or working in the plant bed will scare the rabbits off. Once the rabbit is away you should fence the area so that the rabbit cannot come back in. Using a metal fence is probably the best choice that you have but do not forget to also use an underground fence as rabbits can dig their way back in.
