I commonly extract dead animal carcasses from homes and property. The very animals that commonly invade houses die inside houses, and when they do, they create a very unpleasant odor as the carcass decays. The successful removal of deceased wildlife definitely requires experience and knowledge of building architecture and animal behavior. I've cut and pried open every nook and cranny imaginable to locate and remove rotting critter bodies. An Opossum in the Duct - I do believe that animals have sharp instincts and yet, sometimes they end up doing things that make you wonder where all those instincts went. That especially happens when I clean up animal carcasses from the most unexpected of places in people’s home. Take this silly opossum, for example. Of all the places it could have gone into, it ended up landing in the ducts and dying right there. What happened next is something anyone can predict. Yup, it started to rot inside the duct and caught the poor homeowners unaware as their house got all wrapped up in an unbearable stench.

And thus, I got a call from them to help out. Apparently, they had already consulted some other animal removal guy before me but he could not prove to be of much help. There is something I love about being the second guy to be called. It means I am in competition with someone and it becomes imperative for me to prove myself. As soon as I entered the house, I could tell by the stench that the dead animal was an opossum. It may sound hard to believe but all animals emit their own odor once they start decomposing. My years of experience in the field have made me somewhat of an expert in the field.

Without any effort to sound modest, I will proudly proclaim here that I figured out within a minute and a half where the dead animal will be found. The real challenge was going up the vents and removing it from there. My sniffing power led me to the exact spot where the opossum would be and so, after getting into my Tyvek suit and carrying my equipment, I set out to get the dead guy out. My instincts were absolutely right as not only did I manage to catch the opossum, I also cleaned the place and deodorized it for the sake of the residents.
