Arkansas is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Pine Bluff Wildlife Tip:
Skunks and their young - Skunks will often have their litters of young sometime around May. The litters are usually small, and the babies stay with the mother for a few months until they are ready to go out on their own. Baby skunks are born with active scent glands, but they aren't able to discharge them until about 8 days after birth. IF you have a nuisance skunk on your property and you think it has a litter, you're better off just waiting until the babies grow and leave the den before you trap the mother. Other than that, there is an 8 day window after birth where you can trap the mother and then remove the babies by hand without worry of getting "skunked". Thankfully, skunks don't do too much damage to a home. They will cause quite a bit of damage to the property around the home, but this is often superficial and easily repaired. If you can wait, trap the mother once she is alone. When she's gone, you'll want to make sure you seal up the den where she was staying to prevent more skunks from sneaking in.

Basics of Pine Bluff, AR Pest Control Outlined
Wild animals and insects can wreck your property and plants. You could consider the use of oil to solve your pest problems, that is, if you want an inferior solution. Horticultural oils are highly refined, light weight oils that can be applied during the active growing season. Dormant oils are heavier weight and are used during the cooler fall and winter weather. Spraying a covering of oil on an insect can result in suffocation or a loss of cell membranes. Good spray coverage is essential for pest control and there is no residual activity.
Some plants, like the spiny cactus, are very susceptible to oil injury. Neem oil and pyrethrins are both botanical insecticides. Chemicals from different plants or plant parts are used in these insecticides. Neem oil comes from seeds of a tropical tree and acts as a repellent for many pests.
This oil also can suppress the growth and development of some pests. Pyrethrins are extracted from blossoms of a species of chrysanthemum. When pyrethrins directly contact almost all insects, the nervous system is attacked, and they can be paralyzed quickly. They are deactivated quickly by sunlight and moisture so no residues are left.
Most pesticide labels can answer your questions about plant sensitivity, protective clothing needed by the applicator and rates to use when applying the product. It can save you some money if you are able to read the pesticide label before purchasing and using a product. Understanding and following the directions can provide safe and effective pest control and cost-effective control.
