Arizona is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Casa Grande wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Casa Grande animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Pinal County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Casa Grande Wildlife Tip:
Do Bats Hibernate?

One of the most misunderstood nocturnal animals is the common bat. Coming in multiple sizes and types, they are often one of the most interesting animals to watch and study. However, there are many questions that the average person has about bats, mostly due to common misconceptions in media and the common perception.

During the winter months, most animals in the wild will go into hibernation mode: often, they will bulk up prior to the change of seasons, then retire to their caves and dens to rest up for the warmth that spring brings along. Depending on the species, most bats are no unusual from other mammals this way, and many will often hibernate during the colder winter months. Mostly, this hibernation is a survival tactic for bats, since many insect populations decrease naturally during the winter months, meaning that food becomes scarce for the animal, especially when the bat needs a steady supply of bugs to fuel its active metabolism.

Hibernation (or 'torpor') in bats mean that the animal slows its metabolic, heart, and respiratory rate, giving it the edge to survive for a long period of time without having to eat. During this time, the bat's heart rate drops significantly, and it may go for minutes at a time without taking a breath, letting the bat's body temperature drop to near freezing- depending on the temperature of its surroundings. During this time, other bodily functions will also slow, allowing the bat to conserve close to ninety-eight percent of its energy.

Hibernation is a finicky time for bats: typically, they need a specific temperature between thirty-five and forty degrees Fahrenheit to keep their bodies from getting too cold. They also, depending on the species, have varied times in which they will need to be in torpor: some species will use it for a few hours on a cold day; others, however, will use torpor for up to six months, interspersed with times of waking, in which they can move around, fly for short distances, and eat before going back into hibernation mode.

This movement can also cause problems within people's homes, as most bats have realized that an attic, right next to the insulation, are the perfect place to hide for their period of torpor. This can mean that, for most of the time, homeowners have no idea that a bat colony is infesting their attic, as well, since the only indication that they often have is a slight scratching noises once every few weeks while the bats are stretching their wings. However, these colonies will often not roost for long periods of time, often, instead, taking advantage of the change in seasons to leave, seeking out plentiful insects and warmer climates in the process.
