List Of Snakes Commonly Found In South Carolina

Non-venomous

Black Racer Snake- a long, black and slender snake.
Rat Snake- found in two species: yellow rat and black rat.
Eastern Garter Snake- a medium-sized snake appearing like a garter strap.
Scarlet Snake- appears same as the scarlet king snake.
Eastern Hognose- snake having pig like nose for digging.
Brown Snake- snake having sluggish brown color.
