Florida is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Pine Island wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Pine Island animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local
Lee County Animal Control
for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses,
pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Lee County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that
helps with dog and cat issues only.

Pine Island Wildlife Tip:
DO RATS HAVE BONES? HOW DO THEY FIT IN SUCH SMALL HOLES?
Rats have a very annoying tendency of slipping into very small holes, invading corners of the home that are absolutely inaccessible to humans. This has caused many myths to arise about the internal structure of rats and many people believe that rats have collapsible skeletons or that they do not have bones, but are made entirely out of cartilage.
This is in fact, absolutely false. Rats are rodents, vertebrates, which means they have an internal structure made out of bones, joints and muscles, just like we do. So, the mystery remains as to how they fit through impossibly small holes and run so fast and fluidly.
Well, the fact is that rats are burrowing creatures and have spent their whole evolutionary development digging holes and running through them. Rats have long bodies that have evolved into a flexible, cylindrical shape this has given rats the ideal body to effectively crawl in and out of tight spaces without being caught. But it's not only their cylindrical bodies that enable rats to scurry so quickly into small spaces, their whiskers are their main ally, letting them measure a hole and correctly decide if they fit or not. Their small feet are ideal for scampering quickly and their long tails enable them to keep their balance as the run quickly and sometimes wildly away.
It is widely thought that rats can fit through a hole the size of a quarter. While this is true for small rats, bigger rats like sewer rats and even overweight rats will find that quite impossible. Yes, rats can be overweight, if they have had easy access to human food or if they are kept as pets and have little exercise and too much food, a rat can accumulate fat around its belly.
This can ultimately mean that rats, notwithstanding their incredible whiskers, can also get stuck. If the rat miscalculates the diameter of the hole, if it is overweight or is feeling cornered and is desperate to escape it may very well choose the wrong hole and get stuck. The first nature of a rat is not to attack, but to escape. This means that if a rat is being threatened, it will frantically try to find any means of escape, its lightness of foot, cylindrical body and amazing whiskers will almost always allow it to escape unscathed into a tight, cozy hole where it can feel safe, but sometimes, that same panic that drives it to find an escape, can also mean that it will make a mistake in measuring the hole and it finds that is can't get through. Quick as they are, however, a rat will generally be able to retrace its steps and look for a bigger hole to escape through.
