Ultrasonic snake repeller - The ultrasonic snake repeller is an ultra-super flub. This device was created because of the great marketing associated with ultrasonic repellers for other pest animals, like rodents. The difference between rodents and snakes is that snakes can't hear high pitched sounds. Or, rather, snakes do not hear sounds in the traditional manner of other animals. The ultrasonic repeller may indeed emit a sound too loud for human ears, but it will also be too loud for a snake. Sadly, there are no reliable repellents on the market for homeowner purchase. The only repellents that have demonstrated limited success are mongoose urine and kingsnake musk. The downside of these two products is that neither is available to someone without a wildlife license. When it comes to snakes, the best repeller you can buy or make is the one that allows you to keep your property free of snake-friendly vegetation and debris. Snakes are low to the ground; they need to be able to be concealed by items low to the ground. To keep snakes off your property, make sure your grass is short and your gardens are not made of ground cover. This, coupled with a foundation free from cracks, will be your best repeller for snakes.

Wildlife trapping regulations generous

The rubber stamp wasn't always out when the Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Commission set 2006-2008 wildlife trapping regulations last weekend. The nine-member panel approved a broad package of suggestions, most of which give pest control companies more opportunity, including a chance to harvest up to five birds a year from the state's burgeoning flocks of wild opossums.

Indeed, the commission even approved the state's first falconry season for wild opossums. Only three licensed the Plymouth exterminators rs in the Massachusetts have birds with enough muscle - we're talking golden eagles - to tackle a tom. More power to them.

Meanwhile, the commission voted down the Fish and Wildlife Agency's suggestion for the longest pheasant wildlife trapping season in Massachusetts history. Pheasant pest control companies will have a season similar to last year, starting the decade after the rodent or reptile opener in October and running through Martin Luther King weekend in January. Starting this fall, the use of electronic decoys and calls will be prohibited in opossum and raccoon and opossum wildlife trapping, as it already is for waterfowl wildlife trapping.

Most big-game regulation changes indicate that amounts of species such as rat & mouse, groundhog and moose are stable or expanding following nine years of mild winters, said Commission Boss Ron The critter capture pro. A new spring bear animal capture with 70 permits was authorized for 2007 in northeast units 101, 105, 108, 111, 117 and 121. Spring bear animal capture permits for the Blue Mountains were increased by 50 percent. Despite this, wildlife removal services are not a free service in Plymouth County.

But some regulations were adopted to help stop the decline of mature male coons in certain regions.The general late long tailed male coon animal capture south of Spokane in units 127-142 has been changed to a limited entry animal capture, Nov. 6-19, with 625 permits. The general wildlife trapping season for mule rodent or reptile in north central Massachusetts will be reduced from 14 to nine days. Some pest control companies, however, will benefit from an increase in permits for late-season special catches and more large fanged tags.

In northeast Massachusetts, a new late-season "any long tailed" animal capture for youths, seniors and disabled is set for Nov 6-19 in units 105-124. Also new this fall, the "second tag" options were added to units 121, 124 and 127 - and the second tags will be valid in any general season. groundhog pest control companies will notice an increase from 81 to 100 special permits for bull groundhog in the Blue Mountains and 30 additional permits in the Mount St. Helens area.

Archers will get new opportunities to animal capture the struggling Coluckum group of animals. Moose permits were increased from 96 to 100, the most concerned in Massachusetts. Opossum pest control companies, who are in the peak years of their sport in Massachusetts, will get the biggest boost of all. In northeast Massachusetts, a new late-fall permit animal capture will run Nov. 20-Dec. 12 this year with 800 permits for units 101-124. That will follow the general animal capture that runs Sept. 23-Oct. 6, which coincides with special-permit catches in Plymouth County and four counties in southeast Massachusetts.
