Washington is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Lacey wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Lacey animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local

pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Thurston County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that
helps with dog and cat issues only.

Lacey Wildlife Tip:
What is a groundhog's mating habits, when do they have babies, how do they raise their young?
Groundhogs are smallish rodents that are native to the Eastern and Central United States, Canada and Alaska. They are various shades of brown and grey and are known for their ability to burrow. They will be seen standing on their back legs enjoying the sunlight during summer months. During the cold winter months, they retreat into their burrows to hibernate.
Mating habits
The male groundhog will start looking for a mate as soon as he awakens from hibernation. Depending on where the groundhog lives, this should be late winter to early spring. Groundhog females produce only one litter per year. Male groundhogs will mate with various females and the groundhogs will have no contact after mating.
Co-parenting
Groundhogs are not monogamous. After mating the female groundhog will raise the pups on her own. She will ensure that the burrow is warm and safe and will look after the pups for around two months.
Gestation period
The gestation period is relatively short, and the female will give birth after 30 - 33 days after mating.
Babies
Groundhog litters are usually between 3 to 6 pups. Female groundhogs give birth to a live litter. The pups weigh about 1 ounce at birth. The litter can be as small as 1 or as large as 10 in some cases. The younger the female is the smaller the litter tends to be. At birth, groundhog pups are hairless, blind and deaf. They are completely reliant on their mother for food and warmth.
Raising of young
The responsibility of raising the young rests solely on the female. As the pups are completely helpless for the first few weeks they will need to be nursed and kept warm. After about 40 days the groundhog pups will be weaned. This means that they will be able to start venturing outside in search of food. The pups will be completely independent at about two months old.
Depending on when they were born, the male and female groundhogs reach sexual maturity at between one and two years of age.
Groundhogs are solitary creatures and the pups will soon leave the mother in search of their own burrows. They will need to store enough fat during the next few months to last them during hibernation when winter comes.
