Washington is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Seattle wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Seattle wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local King County Animal Services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the King County animal services, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Seattle Wildlife Tip:
Humane rat traps a city -You can find humane traps in any city you live in, including a suburb. Humane traps include live traps or lethal traps. When dealing with rats, lethal trapping is almost always recommended. Nuisance rats are not easily removed from a home and relocated. Live rats that are accustomed to living near humans will not know how to survive in the wild. These nuisance rats are most effectively trapped with lethal traps and then disposed of. Lethal traps can be humane. Snap traps are one of the most humane traps available to professionals and homeowners. A snap trap will kill a rat instantly if it is set properly and is of the correct size. Other traps, like glue traps, are not as humane. Poison is not humane, either. Many homeowners think that because poisoned rats are out of sight, they must have died a peaceful death somewhere outside. That is far from the truth. Poisoned rats, if they eat the poison in the first place, often die a long, painful death inside of the home. The expense to find and remove the smelling carcass can be more than to have the live rats effectively trapped.

SEATTLE ANIMAL SERVICES - Clinic is pound's domestic wild animal project

Animal control officer Sherry Smith knows Scampers may be nothing but a hound dog, but the Coon Hound at Prairie Paws Adoption Center needs a home. These animals and nearly 200 others call the city's Prairie Paws Adoption Center home. Today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., they'll play host to hundreds of furry visitors for the center's seventh annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic. For more information, call the animal services of Seattle, Washington.

The center places a 1,000-domestic wild animal limit on the vaccination clinic, and typically, it doles out "pretty darned close to that" in rabies and 5-in-1 vaccinations, said Jennifer The wildlife department officer, the city's Animal Services manager. "Last year, we did about 950," she said Friday. "It's been pretty well-received." Though they may offer assistance with the cuddly domestic wild animals, don't expect help with wildlife.

The service is restricted to dogs, cats and ferrets owned by Grand Prairie residents, and there is a five-domestic wild animal limit per household, she said. Though the service is free, the center accepts donations that will benefit a planned dog park in the city. Getting domestic wild animals vaccinated can help protect them and their owners, something that's especially important in this area, Ms. The wildlife department officer said. Animal and carcass elimination services in King County is dedicated to helping Washington and Seattle.

"Rabies is endemic in North Washington," she said. "Skunks, raccoons, foxes, coyotes and bats are the big five. They're considered very high-risk. We don't come into contact very often - we don't go out and hug a coyote - but our domestic wild animals do." "They can be a conduit to us," she added. "We do the rabies [shots] for us, but we give the others for the animals." King County animal services in Seattle, Washington, declined to comment on the situation.
