While the most common way of dealing with an opossum is to trap and remove the animal, one of the alternatives that can be used if the animal infestation is in an attic or a small cavity is to use a one-way exclusion funnel. These are small devices that are large enough to allow the opossum to pass through, but have a valve style mechanism that will not allow the opossum to return to the area. This can be an effective solution, but it is important to make sure that the work is carried out properly, otherwise the situation can persist.
