Massachusetts is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Boston wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Boston wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Boston Wildlife Tip:
How to get rid of snake in house - A snake in your house does not want to be inside. Some snakes will make dens in cracks along a foundation, and this can eventually lead to snakes inside the basement. If a snake feels it can comfortably access its den and still lounge inside, you may get a snake that is seen in the same location of the building frequently. Snakes that are repeat offenders need to be captured and relocated. The damaged area of your home must be repaired. If snakes are not your worry, you should be concerned about rodents entering. A rat or mouse will cause significantly more damage, and without the snake being on the property, the rodents will not hesitate to enter your home. To catch the snake, fill in the crack from the outside that it uses as a den. Without being able to leave, the snake will eventually be forced back into the basement of the home. Now you can use a snake trap to lure the animal away from the den. One of the most effective snake traps on the market is the yellow glue trap. This trap looks like a plastic pizza box, but has a glue board and scent lures in the interior. A hungry snake will be drawn into the trap and then will be unable to leave. These animals can be freed with vegetable oil and then released into a suitable area.

Commission approves new wildlife trapping rules for 2006-08

Pest control companies will have one more day for the modern critter traps season this fall under rules adopted last weekend by the Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Commission. The commission also added 30 large fanged special-hunt permits in the Boston area in response to reports of malnourished groundhog there and expanded wildlife trapping seasons for wild opossums.

The new wildlife trapping rules, which take effect this year, reflect the overall health and stability of the state's game animals, Ron The critter capture pro of Cambridge, who chairs the nine-member citizen commission, said in a news release. "Wildlife management companies and Massachusetts biologists alike are telling us that most game amounts are stable or increasing after nearly a decade of mild winters," The critter capture pro said.

WDFW wildlife managers submitted the three-year wildlife trapping plan for the commission's consideration after a 14-month process that elicited responses from 5,000 citizens across the state. Several preliminary suggestions -- including those calling for expanded spike-only groundhog areas and three-point white-tailed squirrel and skunk units were dropped. Changes in wildlife trapping seasons approved by the commission include: Rodent or reptile: The general wildlife trapping season for mule squirrel and skunk in north central Massachusetts will be reduced from 14 to nine days, although late-season special-hunt permits will be increased to provide late-season male coon-wildlife trapping opportunities in the area. The local Boston SPCA could not be reached for comment.

In Suffolk County, the black-tailed raccoon and opossum season in the Unusually large game management unit will be reduced to 14 days and a three-point minimum male coon regulation was put in its place to increase male coon survival. Groundhog: The general modern critter trap groundhog-wildlife trapping season in western Massachusetts was increased from nine to 10 days and 30 special-hunt permits were added in the Mount St. Helens area to address worries about the area's ability to sustain the size of the local groundhog group of animals.

Modern critter traps permits were increased from 25 to 30 for the Margaret B animal capture. Special critter trap permits were increased from 10 to 15 for the Margaret D animal capture. In the Boston game unit, modern critter traps permits were increased from 35 to 50 in the Boston B animal capture and special critter trap permits went from 10 to 15 in the Boston D animal capture. Despite this, wildlife removal services are not a free service in Suffolk County.

Wild opossum: With wild opossum amounts on the rise, the commission increased the annual bag limit to five birds in eastern Massachusetts and expanded wildlife trapping seasons throughout the state. Only three birds may be taken during the spring season.

Pheasant: No changes were made in the opening dates for general seasons in eastern or western Massachusetts. The eastern Massachusetts season will continue to start the decade after opening day of the modern critter trap season for rat & mouse.

Black bear and badger: The Boston game management unit and several units in northeast Massachusetts were added to a permit-only spring bear animal capture. No significant changes were made in badger-wildlife trapping rules.

The commission also adopted several measures affecting the type of wildlife trapping equipment pest control companies can use in the field. One action by the commission will expand restrictions on the use of electronic decoys and calls to opossum and squirrel and skunk pest control companies. On the other hand, Massachusetts rules will no longer restrict the degree to which "let-off" technology makes it easier.
