Here's a photo of one of them inside the attic - I saw six inside.

In my job as a wildlife control operator, I usually deal with the same 8 types of animals: raccoons, squirrels, rats, opossums, armadillos, snakes, bats, and birds. However, from time to time I get a chance to handle an uncommon species. I really relish these jobs. The above photos are all of animals that I don't usually handle. Cats in the attic - Continuing with the story that I left off in the last picture, this apparently adorable looking cat was one of the 6 that I found in the attic. And they were pretty smart about it too by finding their way up through the vents. Attics are usually the least used rooms in houses and I have to give them credit for finding a place where they would not be discovered easily. Call it their misfortune though, they were doing the coming and going through the vent and I saw them. Since there were no pet cats in the house, the kitty party was pretty much unwelcome at the house.

There could be a number of reasons why these cats climbed up on the attic. One could be the search for shelter but stray cats are equally happy living in garbage dumps too. Another could be that they smelled some rodent in there. I also would not rule out the possibility that the house residents tried to feed these cats out of pity. Stray cats are really cheap that way. Not only will they thrive on any free food you offer them, they will end up living in your house and even raise their kids there.

Being perfectly aware of the health hazards stray cats can bring with them, I knew I had to do something about the situation even though I do not handle stray cat removal cases by choice. There are a lot of controversial and sensitive issues involved in stray cat removal, which is why I think it is a job best left to the county services. Even after I trapped these cats by luring them into the cage with canned cat food, I knew it was time to call the county services and wipe my hands clean off this potentially messy job.

AAAnimal Control is a privately owned wildlife removal and pest control business, located in Orlando Florida. I deal strictly with wild animals including ones that have died inside houses. I am not an extermination company, but a critter removal and control specialist. The above photos are some of the many that I've taken in the field over my years of work. Please email me if you have any questions about the above photographs, or any questions about wildlife problems or Florida wildlife removal issues.
