A New Home for Bats -
If you have a colony of bats that are living inside your home, make them a new one. Bats are great for the ecosystem and are wonderful at controlling pests. Bats will consume the annoying moths, flies and mosquitoes that come into your home and bother you.
If you are one of the many people that are not fearful of bats, but still want them out of your home, there are some options. When you find where the bats are getting in, you will need to start to an exclusion process. This means installing a device that allows the bat to only fly one way. The bats will be able to leave your home to go find food, but not fly back in. This can be done with a one way device or with a screen. You can nail or stable the top of the screen to the inside of their opening to create a flap that only lets them fly out.
You should leave this device in place for a few weeks to make sure all of the bats have exited. Once you have determined all the bats are gone, you can permanently seal up the access hole. Make sure that you are not trapping any bats inside. You should especially make sure that there are no baby bats in the attic. Trapping in bats that are unable to fly can cause them to die. Bats are protected species and you are unable to harm them.
If you are interested in providing bats with a new home, you can install a backyard bat house. This will provide your new friends with a proper place to roost and continue to exterminator your yard from pests. This is an incredibly humane way to free your attic of bats and allow them to continue to live.
Bats are great animals! Unfortunately, the do often choose to roost inside home and buildings, where they can create a big mess. It's a good idea to remove the bats from your belfry or attic, but it's also a great idea to avoid
harming them! Any competent wildlife control expert should have the knowledge and expertise to safely and effectively remove an entire colony of bats from a house without harming or killing a single one. I know that I have a 100%
success rate with bat removal jobs, and I believe the list of companies that I've compiled in my directory is of similar quality. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Bats page.
