California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I
recommend professional Oakland wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, it is necessary to perform correct
preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the
the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Oakland wildlife
frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
Founded in 1852, Oakland, California is a major city with approximately 400,000 people. It is located in Alameda County, on the east side of the San Francisco Bay in Northern California. It is surrounded by Berkeley to the north, San Francisco to the west, and Alameda to the south. Back in the 70s, Oakland had a public reputation as a high-crime city with some of the highest ranking carjacking, robbery, assault, homicide and drug possession in California. However, in the last decade, the city has reduced its crime and increased its population due to the great location, weather, and high home prices. Tourist attractions in Oakland include the Oakland Museum of California, the Art Deco Paramount Theater, Chinatown, Jack London Square, Lake Merritt, Children's Fairyland, and McAfee Coliseum. We trap all the pest animals in the area, from Alameda down to Hayward. We also service the towns of Bethel Island, El Cerrito, and wildlife trapping in Orinda, San Ramon, Bay Point and also animal control in Pacheco, Alamo, San Lorenzo, Moraga, Newark, Discovery Bay, Clayton and pest control in Canyon, Castro Valley, San Pablo, and animal capture in Knightsen, and rat control in Piedmont, Byron, Sunol, Albany, Danville, Hayward, Pinole, Alameda and wild animal services in Richmond, Livermore, Concord, Crockett, Fremont, Pleasant Hill East Bay and wildlife management in Hercules, Brentwood, San Leandro, Kensington, Port Costa, El Sobrante, Emeryville, Diablo, and wildlife trapping in Pleasanton, Oakley, Rodeo, Walnut Creek.
If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local
for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses,
pet adoption, lost pets, and more. No county in California will assist with wildlife control situations, and there is no free Oakland
animal control services for wildlife.

Oakland Wildlife Tip:
Can You Remove Squirrel From Ceiling Space - If you have heard the unmistakable sound of scampering or gnawing above your head you may have squirrels in your ceiling space! They probably started out in the attic but it's quite easy for these stubborn and versatile animals to squeeze through a tiny crack or a vent and discover the thrill that is your ceiling space. Getting rid of squirrels from your ceiling is very similar to evicting them from the attic. First, do your detective work - you will have to be up early in the morning in order to observe your squirrels going in and out of your home - fairly soon you should be able to work out which is their favored exit and entryway and which is the most popular run.
Once you have done this invest in a trap. Place your trap on the favored squirrel run, leave some bait just outside the door but don't prime the trap. Leave the trap in place like that for a few days, keep replenishing the bait. You can use this time to squirrel proof the rest of your home - leaving one entryway for the squirrels to use. After a couple of days, move the bait inside the still unprimed trap and leave for a few more days. Then it is time to prime the trap and wait - once you start catching squirrels you should either kill them or relocate them far away from your home.

On Patrol With Animal Control of Oakland
Are Vicious Squirrels The Problem? Is the Bay Area overrun with vicious animals? Over the summer there were nine major squirrel attacks, including the death of a 12-year-old San Francisco boy killed by his family rodent. But these kinds of incidents are fairly rare. ABC7 sent crews out to ride along with three Bay Area animal control officers, and here's what we found the "real" problems are. Alameda County animal control says it will continue to help with domestic animal issues, but not with California wildlife problems.
It isn't always wildlife that's getting caught in San Jose area backyards. In June alone, San Jose picked up 1,300 rats - far more than Oakland or San Francisco. Most were feral - rats that grew up in the wild and are now un-adoptable. Animal control offers traps to area residents to control the problem. When they can, they spay or neuter captured rats and release them. Officer Mandy Lexington, San Jose animal services: "There's just such a limited reach where there's just not enough people to foster these animals. We always try to get the animal out, but unfortunately with the number being that high, we can't always do that. Seven out of 10 actually get euthanized." For more information, call the animal services of Oakland, California.
Often they are kittens who haven't been weaned from their mothers. Officer Mandy Lexington, San Jose animal services: "The problem is a lot people don't spay and neuter their animals, and a lot of rat owners let their rats run loose." Oakland animal control doesn't trap rats. In Oakland's toughest neighborhoods, squirrels make cheap burglar alarms. Some are trained to attack, and when those animals get out, people get bit. Alameda County animal services in Oakland, California, declined to comment on the matter.
Insecticide targets pests In Oakland
Fred Smithers, a Wilbur Ellis pest control adviser covering southern Alameda County in California, likens the success of using Pest Extreme Lotion insecticide-miticide on mites to hitting a home run when you're hoping at best to hit a single. The Alameda County Pest Control board could not be reached for comment.
With 24 years' experience as a PCA, Smithers says this is the first time he's been genuinely astonished by the efficacy of a non-conventional miticide, according to a company press release. Pest Extreme Lotion, developed by EcoSTART Technologies, is based on a unique blend of patented plant essential oils that attack the octopamine neuroreceptors found only in certain invertebrates such as insects and mites. Oakland pest control is an important part of the local economy, but only a few California companies deal with wild animals.
During the 2005 growing season, Smithers treated a total of 345 acres with Pest Extreme Lotion, but his introduction to the product was serendipitous. Having never used Pest Extreme Lotion, he cautiously recommended it to the owners of Murray Family Farms in Arvin, Calif., as the best product with zero days to harvest. Most local owners of pest control companies in Oakland, California weren't sure what to make of all this.
"We needed something that was fast-acting, had a zero re-entry interval, and no pre- and post-harvest intervals, because we were treating a mite infestation on a 5-acre plot of mixed fruit trees that were ready to pick," said Smithers. At the same time, he treated 5-acre plots on either side of the Pest Extreme Lotion treatment with conventional - and more expensive - miticides. There are many types of insects and animals in Oakland, and other California cities, but not all of them are pests after all.
