This living room was unbelievably foul. They waited two weeks before calling.

I commonly extract dead animal carcasses from homes and property. The very animals that commonly invade houses die inside houses, and when they do, they create a very unpleasant odor as the carcass decays. The successful removal of deceased wildlife definitely requires experience and knowledge of building architecture and animal behavior. I've cut and pried open every nook and cranny imaginable to locate and remove rotting critter bodies. I am the best - I always find the animal, deodorize and decontaminate the area, and seal up the hole I've cut open. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Dead Animals page.

Ceilings and Opossums – Bad Combination. To some, my job seems tough. Some think it is disgusting, while some are left in awe. As for me, it is all in a day’s work. Some days are tough and some are just plain easy that make me thank my lucky stars. The stinky case of this dead opossum is one that I clearly remember as being one of the easiest in terms of finding where the dead animal was. And for that, I have to be thankful to the house residents who waited for a good two weeks before calling me in to remove the dead guy.

By the time they asked for my services, the house had already started smelling like the filthiest of sewages. Never in my life had I been so grateful to see a bunch of flies as I was that day as they hovered around the particular spot on the ceiling where the opossum had died. I also noticed that right at the site, there were stains on the ceiling and that made me completely certain that this is the place to start digging in. Finally, some vacation for my poor nose, not that the smell was something I liked. But hey, I didn’t have to sniff around to find the carcass. What more could I ask for?

And yes folks, there is a valuable lesson for all of you out there. Whenever you have an animal situation in the house, try not to take matters into your own hands like these people did. They knew there was an opossum inside the ceiling and yet went on and closed the hole so it could not escape. The result as we all know is that the animal died right inside, leaving the place smelling worse than a garbage pit. Point to be noted: Always call a wildlife expert in case of an animal entry situation at your place.
