C'mon! Look at the size of this thing! Why did you wait two weeks?!

I commonly extract dead animal carcasses from homes and property. The very animals that commonly invade houses die inside houses, and when they do, they create a very unpleasant odor as the carcass decays. The successful removal of deceased wildlife definitely requires experience and knowledge of building architecture and animal behavior. I've cut and pried open every nook and cranny imaginable to locate and remove rotting critter bodies. I am the best - I always find the animal, deodorize and decontaminate the area, and seal up the hole I've cut open. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Dead Animals page.

Dead Opossum in the House for Two Weeks….Outrageous! - In continuation with the story I narrated with the previous picture, this is the dead opossum I found in the ceiling of my most disgusting clients ever! Don’t take me wrong. It is very rare that I will bad mouth my customers. But trust me in case of these particular clients of mine, no amount of bad mouthing would be enough. Till now, everyone reading my posts must be aware how much it irritates me when I come across homeowners who take care of an animal intrusion situation by scattering poison around. And then, to top it all they complain of the stench that spreads around the house once the animal dies inside.

I never thought anything else on my job could annoy me more. But I stand corrected after meeting these people. Just to save some money, they tried to deal with the opossum on their own. Not a bad idea only if you know what you are doing and in this particular incident, they didn’t know jack about what to do when an animal enters their house. So they went on about doing the complete opposite of what they should have done i.e. closing down the hole from where the opossum traveled in and out of the house. The result: the opossum got trapped inside the house and eventually died of what I assume was dehydration.

If that was not enough, they waited for around two weeks to call for help. That too when the ceiling started showing signs of dead matter seeping out of the opossum’s body and millions of flies started circling the area in search of food. And the horrible stench acted as the perfect icing on the crappy cake. Easy job for me in terms of hunting the dead opossum down but if you see the peanut amount I got paid, not worth it at all!

AAAnimal Control is a privately owned wildlife removal and pest control business, located in Orlando Florida. I deal strictly with wild animals including ones that have died inside houses. I am not an extermination company, but a critter removal and control specialist. The above photos are some of the many that I've taken in the field over my years of work. Please email me if you have any questions about the above photographs, or any questions about wildlife problems or dead animal removal issues.
