There is no such thing as an effective bat repellent. Period. People will always try to sell you products, and magic cure-alls. Some products
work, and some don't. In the field of wildlife control, you'll often find more bogus products than effective ones. Bats are mammals. They are
similar to you and I. There is no magic scent or smell or chemical or poison that will deter them. The internet is full of bat deterrent
products, but none of them work. Some of these products include fox or coyote urine, which is a nice idea in theory, but it isn't effective. Other
products are simply made of napthalene - moth balls - which some companies sell as an end-all be-all in wildlife repellant. Sorry, it simply doesn't
work. I've seen people dump OVER 50 POUNDS of mothballs in an attic where bats are living, and they don't care in the slightest. They keep using the
area. Devices such as ultrasonic sound emitters that make a high-pitched noise are completely useless. I've been to so many properties over the years in
which people have spent time and money on silly gimmicks like these, and then they hire a real bat control expert, and the problem is correctly taken care of.
Here we see a building that I went to, a hotel with tile roof, where the managers had installed six different ultrasonic sound emitters in the attic, on the
roof, on poles pointing at the roof, everywhere, and the bats didn't care in the slightest. There is no magic spray or powder or anything else to keep away bats.
If you have a bat problem and you wish to get rid of them, it must be done right. The bats must be properly excluded from the building by a pro, and that
pro must permanently seal off all bat entry points.

Will a high pitch sound deterrent machine work to get rid of bats? High pitch sound deterrents are the popular way in repelling the bats and they are used not only for bats but for other pesky animals as well. These high-frequency machines are transmitting the noise that only bats can hear, but they will soon become immune to the sound and completely will ignore it. Another wrong method against bats, you can only lose your money on these machines, they are just not worth it. Even the Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning against these devices, describing them as fraudulent and ineffective.
This idea started among the various pest control organizations and it has never been proved as the effective one. Most of the animals will just ignore the device and if they pay attention to it, it will be from pure curiosity. The bats will simply continue their everyday life, unaffected and with no change in their behavior.
The truth is that the companies will try to sell you what you need or what you thought you need, they don?t care if their product is useless, they want your money and that?s it. Simple as that. That is not only the case with the high pitch sound machines, it?s the same with other repellents and the verdict is mutual for all of them ? they will not help you at all. So, stop spending your money on bad products. It is hard to find at least one positive result published in the scientific journal.
Manufacturers are keen to prove that their products are actually working, but at the same time they are claiming that there are no evidence that their devices don't work. However, the manufacturers cannot give any guarantees that they high pitch sound machines will give results, and that is exactly what it makes their product untrustworthy and unreliable. Commercials are meant to be seductive and manipulative as well as the various testimonials that you can find on the internet. A lot of people are saying that the product worked excellent for them after a couple of tryouts. Those claims have to be backed with some proper scientific data.
Until you see some reliable scientific proofs that these devices can repel the bats or any other animal, don?t believe in what other people are saying because they are most probably paid to do so and deceive folks who will buy anything just to get rid of the pests. You could try with the high pitch sound machine, but it will only lead to your disappointment and regret. If you are smarter than that, you will listen to our advice.
