A Dead Opossum Under the House

This job was extremely difficult, and several other companies failed to find the animal before I was called. The house smelled awful, so we knew that there was a dead animal under house crawl space. First, I pried open a spot and squirmed through a tiny access hole that most people couldn't even fit through. Second, I spent over an hour crawling in the dirt, dust, spiders, and stench, through a 1600 square foot labyrinth of ductwork, when most guys would have given up. The animal wasn't to be found, and I realized that it must have crawled up inside the insulation lining below the floor and above the crawl space. So I did the search all over again, this time looking up at the lining for ... fly eggs. Sure enough, I found them, cut a hole in that spot, and out dropped a decaying adult opossum, which I removed, along with the filthy insulation.

HELLO- I AM DESPERATE. AROUND LAST CHRISTMAS I NOTICED A FOUL SMELL COMNING FROM BY BED AND BATH AREA. DAYS LATER THE ARE WAS FILLED WITH FLYS. I CALLED CRITTER REMOVAL AND THEY SPENT SOME TIME INVESTIGATING. A A N OPENING WAS FOUND UNDER MY DECK SOME FOURTY FEET FROM THE THE BATH AREA. I HAVE A SMALL HATCH IN THE TUB AREA THAT ALLOWS ME TO OPEN IT. THE ODER WAS PUTRID. BUT............. WE COULD NOT HAVE ACCESS DUE TO THAT THE JACUZZI WAS IN THAT AREA. HE SAID THE ANIMAL WAS PROBABLY AT THE OTHER END IN A CORNER FOR THE HEAT OF THE AREA. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. I WAITED 6 WEEKS UNTIL THE FLYS AND ODER LEFT AND PUT OUT TRAPS. THEY WOULD HAVE TO BREAK WITH THE SLATE TILE TO MABEY GET TO THE POSSUM. IN THE MEANTIME I SAW A SMALLER POSSUM LAST SUNDAY IN THE MORNING CLIMBING A TREE BY THE AREA. I CALLED THE GARDNER TO CUT THE BRANCHES BACK BECAUSE IT GOES TO THE ROOF. I SUSPECT IT NESTED IN THE AREA. I HAD NO TRAP AND BY WEDNESDAY NIGHT I SMELLED THE ODER IN MY BATHROOM AGAIN AND THE FLIES WERE BUZZING. SHOULD I HAVE A PLUMBER REMOVE THE BATHTUB SO HE CAN SEE WHERE THESE DEAD ANIMALS ARE? OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE TO BREAK UP THE WHOLE SLATE AREA.I WILL HAVE SOMEONE TAKE CARE OF THE HOLE UNDER THE DECK ASAP. COULD THE ORIGINAL POSSUM HAVE HAD BABIES THAT WERE GOING BACK AND FORTH THE FOURTY FEET TO GET OUT? I AM FLIPPING OUT. I HAVE HAD CRITTER REMOVAL AND NOW NEED CONSTRUCTION.
