David, I?ve recently moved back into my childhood home in May of this year. My father and Mother have moved to a new location and allowed me to rent the house from them since both my sister and I did not want them to sell it.
The house was vacant for about two months, although many of my parents belongings and such were still in there. When I moved in, I heard critters in the attic. I contacted my father who came and set up box traps and sure enough
within the day, we had captured a raccoon that had snuck in. Since then, I have placed several calls to my father letting him know that I?ve noticed some droppings on the basement floor, along with odd stains on the drop ceiling
(where no water pipes are located). The house if very old, in fact in the basement there is still a coal burning water heater. It is a finished basement, however the ?boiler room? off the laundry room is not finished- and there are
no ceiling tiles in this area. The past couple of months I have heard a critter beneath my bedroom floor, in the living room, in my sons room, and various spaces of the house ( all within the floor). We are looking for Doctor Phillips animal control or Doctor Phillips Wildlife Removal to help us.
This raccoon has the ability to
stay in the ceiling which is the whole total surface area of my upper level flooring. My grandfather came over last night and removed one of the ceiling tiles and there was a ton of droppings and urine. The smell was so overbearing
I am almost embarrassed that I?ve lived there without noticing it. I have been afraid and in able to use the basement ? and done minimal laundry. I currently have a box trap set on the floor in the boiler room and am attempting to
lure the raccoon in with cat food. What is the best possible solution for this problem? I want my house back!
